there is also a "Vietnam vetrans against the war" and Veterans for peace. The Veterans for peace link below has an interesting defence spending clock at the bottom of the home page. http://www.veteransforpeace.org/
How to tell genuine reporting from an article manufactured to produce the desired propaganda effect? The war in Iraq provides us plenty of interesting samples for a study of disinformation techniques.
It's a site where large timelines and claims are supported by submitted newspaper articles from it's members. When the article is no longer present from it's source, the site transcripts it onto its own server. It's amazing to see the detail of the Al-Qaeda and 911 timelines.
Please include www.TvNewsLies.org as an important source of news that remains unreported/undereported by the mainstream media.
The site was recently featured on a CSpan segment on politcial webbloggers, and contains well documented information that links to authoritative sources for validation. Vera
Without really meaning to be redundant (but doing it anyway) - the link I recommended: www.TvNewsLies.org is posted on americanpolitics.com (APJ on the above main list) as their Link of the Day.
The reason I'm promoting the site is that it not only provides alternative news, but offers clearly documented explanations of how the media is supporting Bush Lies. The site also has free downloads of marvelous protest material....posters and handouts. You'll also find plans for activism and resources with which to take back the nation, the media, and the flag.
I really do sound like their PR person, don't I? I'll apply for the job
Meantiime check out www.TvNewsLies.org. Spread the word.

I only link to them because there are more than 100 links there.
I'd suggest in particular common dreams. Maybe Third World Traveler if you can stand it, and Z net. (Far left stuff, you know the stuff outside of money which is what the internet can best be utilized for.)
That is a fake webpage, funny how you didn't notice. If you don't believe me goto foxnews.com and do a search for "Group Says Iran Has Nuclear Weapons". That doesn't come up on the foxnews website, it only shows on google.
