How does one abduct a UFO? The main issue would be that when you get close to it identification should be easy, even if the summary is "flying saucer" or "alien spaceship". It's no longer unidentified at that point, thus we have a tautology. (If I used that word right.)

In order to abduct a UFO one has to have the technology to do so .

"oxymoron" I think. I always get that pair of antonyms muddled.

"tautology" is like a redundancy in the expression.

Something like the net used at the end of runways to help aircraft from running off the end

However the net itself does not stop the aircraft

The ends are attached to cables which run out to slow down the aircraft, a net by itself would be more like a brick wall

Depending on the UFO propulsion system it might help to put pulses of electricity through the net in a attempt to disrupt its drive and / or control systems
