I have got to admit this is the most pathetic international deal I ever hear, at least in upfront appearance, now if there were secretly throwing in a few extras, like a corn beef sandwich hold the mustard for Ben, I could understand. :crazy:
Now why is it so wrong to get Israel to stop building settlements, you know what why don't we just tell Israel that we give up on the two state solution and that we believe in a one state solution now and they should just absorb the west bank, make them all Israelis, do it Israel, that what your doing, just get it done with right now!
Or how about this lets tell the American people "Since we have no reasonable leverage against Israel lets just take all the Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza, take them all as refugees and be down with it...hey yeah why don't we do that? Solves the problem, the Palestinians get first world country home verses their dry rats nest, and the Israelis get what they want (god forbid they don't get what they want!) everyone wins, heck it might cost America less in the long run then pay out the ass to keep Israel twirling their thumbs.

It's not that Americans are necessarily Sheeple (that's a bold statement that, wrongly, includes all 315 million people here--including those who oppose such a deal), it's just that there are so many other insanely huge issues with our government that this one falls off the scale.

Americans have become increasingly dissconnected with political realities. Is Newsertainment partly to blame or is this simply reflecting the shallowness of Americans' thinking? A broken educational system? Decades of Institutionalized government and little real respncibility in the hands of the Citizens? I'm just not sure. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure 99% of Americans could care less what Israel does.

I don't know why the US Government has such a hard-on for Israel but we have for a long time. Betcha Israel's holding US-controlled nukes pointed at all the bad guys or something. But I think Israel is growing up in its own right and it may be OK for them to take some baby steps on their own.
A) It is only a freeze of 3 months, which means a resumption. B) It is costing American taxpayers $2 Billion, or $66 million a day, and thats on top of the $30 billion arms give away over the next 10 years to Israel.
C) The American people tell Israel to go Fuck themselves and make the own living in the World, like every other nation.
If it makes the other 315 million Americans feel any better, I consider Australia a nation of 21 million brown nosers.
This is a cop-out, Israel was given a 30 billion arms aid deal and is now being bribed with a 2 billion give away, there is no reason why this shouldn't be on the head of discussion.
This war is placing a severe strain on the US economy, if this war irreversibly breaks the US economy, then it is goodbye Israel.
I'm kind of seeing a "cold war standoff" with Israel. Palestine is funded by Muslim nations and Israel is funded by the USA. It's like another Korea, Vietnam or Germany- a standoff. And if either side attacks, it will quickly escalate into an International event with the primary players as pawns.
Here's a thought- the USA determines Israel's East border and enforces that decision. Israel will be pissed off but Palestine would love the idea. Then we give Israel half what we currently do and give it to Palestine to build up in their now-defined border- enforced by the US.
Then we open up lots of US military bases in the region to enforce peace. In other words, we talk them both down by force.
Palestine- now funded by the USA- no longer needs terrorist organizations and Israel no longer has the US as Big Daddy.

It's so bloody obvious what's going to happen. We pasted peak oil in 2008. Israelis will continue to chip away at the territories until oil is pretty much superseded by other energy forms and then they'll take it all and more.

For some fucked up reason that never going to happen, so I think we should just take all the Palestinians now and be done with it.
So I think America should cut all economic and military aid to Israel, then sever the $62.65 billion a year trade deficit that subsidizes the Israeli economy, and force Israel to accept all Palestinians back into Israel and give all Palestinians Israeli citizenship. No money Israel cant argue, simple, solved.

If so, this kind of thing has been falling off the scale for decades. I don't think this kind of deal with Israel is atypical. We have been funding the government of Israel to the tune of 3 billion plus each year for decades....not to mention the Israeli debt we guarentee. Republicans/Tea Partiers here get all bent out of shape when the American government guarentees debt of the nations banks in order to prevent the collapse of the banking system and don't blink an eye when we put ourselves on the hook for billions in Israeli debt guarentees.

Damn good thing you're not an accountant (at least I hope not). It's not $62 billion per year, that would be half of Israel's GDP right there, it's $62 billion cumulative. And people still wonder how bulls*** conspiracy theories get started and propagate? Anyhow, I can't blame you for thinking Israel cast Voodoo mind spells on the US government, since the US gov't is hardly acting to the contrary.
Its still $10 billion a year in their favour, and that is excluding the other $5 Billion given in aid.
Yeah I don't dispute that whatever the trade/aid deficit is, it's still large and Americans shouldn't be happy with it. $10 billion a year is only recent figures though, remember the US economy just bombed, they have ginormous trade deficits everywhere (more reason why they don't need to give aid to "friends" who tell them to f*** off whenever there's a dispute). But let's get some accuracy with those figures then, if it were $62 billion to Israel in a year, Obama would be facing lynch mobs.
