What does that do exactly?

I found out today I am being followed by some posters and was curious as to what that actually entails.

Do they get alerts when I post?

When I post a thread?

Or is it just a general nod in my direction?

EDIT: Or bots, some have similar names, do not post then go silent after a short time.

I think it means the follower gets an alert when the followed makes a post, but I’m not sure as I don’t use the facility.
