Once you are in the ground that's it, which is pretty much what Judaism thought about death at the time. That did not start to change till Daniel ISH.

I suspect the key lines are sadly missed out of most versions;

I'd go with Matthew 25:40 - "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me" and Luke 6:31 - "Do to others as you would have them do to you." Most of the problems in the world today would be avoided if people heeded those.
right. That is where most religions fail, because allowing for Math12:50, all members are Christ's family, not just the Big cheeses. popes, bishops that receive most the of the benefits. That verse does not apply to the governors.

Judaism doesn't like to consider life after death ( pro or con ) because nothing concrete can be known about it until it happens.
