That's nice, what about my 26 inch bass drum? We just nailed Rotherham.
Yeah nice, er, drum:).

Who's Ludwig? A reference to Beethoven, or just the name of a drum maker? I always associate Beethoven with kettle drums, i.e. those with pitch, e.g. opening of his violin concerto.

Nice? Is Gibson custom nice? A Fender Stratocaster? A Hofner cello bass?
They are a classic name in drums, founded early 20th century.
Buddy Rich, Ian Paice, Ringo, Mitch Mitchel, John Bonham being famous names using the make.
I have never played a Slingerland or Rogers but they are next on the list.

I had actually guessed that! As a left-handed person, I'm very intuitive.

Seriously, though, I've never quite grasped the whole "right-handed guitar" concept or why I would want a left-handed one. Fretting with my left hand seems natural. Having the better hand on fretwork actually strikes me as advantageous. But maybe there's a level where that flips over and they want the dom hand on picking. Or maybe I'm more ambidextrous, as some lefties seem to be, so it doesn't matter as it would to more LH dominant types.
When I first held a guitar, I held it left handed. It's what felt natural. The kid who was showing me how to play said I was holding it upside down. Hmm, OK. I turned it over - it felt weird. Now, almost 60 years later, I can't imagine that ever feeling right. Then again, I'm fairly ambidextrous too.

As for drums - Ringo is left handed but plays a right handed kit. That's why some of his seemingly simple fills can baffle right handed drummers.

So this isn't completely off topic... Liverpool.

Complete with fake-looking Disney castle, apparently. Cathedral? Who designed that? It looks all wrong somehow - can't put my finger on why exactly.
St Louis Cathedral... In the French Quarter. It was after the sun had gone down - a slow shutter speed. Somehow it wound up with an unnatural red sky and greenish foreground.

I've been there. It's real, located in the middle of the French quarter. Built in mid 19th century. It's sort of a centerpiece of the FQ. My spouse told me it's the oldest continually used RC cathedral in the US.

Yes, I've now looked it up. Seems the current building dates from the 1850s. I don't know why but to me the architecture looks sort of pastiche-like. Those side steeples on the flanking towers seem somehow out of proportion, giving it a fairy castle look. I did wonder if that prolific guy Viollet-le-Duc, who did so much enthusiastic c.19th restoration work on French churches, not always for the better, might have had a hand in it. But apparently not him. (He had a go at the west end of St. Ouen in Rouen and it looks a bit, well, wrong.)

Me and my University mates, we met 1985 ish and still make an effort to meet up regularly.
This is a central Manchester pub where we used to meet up sometimes. I still remember a few of the guys going for beers after their finals.
I am the only Manc, the cities the other guys hail from Stafford, Stourbridge, Skipton, Liverpool.

I had a great uncle who lived in Stourbridge, though he moved to West Hagley later.

That was December 2019, and I am feeling a little nostalgic. Those old folk in the images all have shared memories, Uni, jobs, holidays, gigs, weddings, kids. Life basically. I feel privileged

Great accent. As they all stayed on in Manchester after Uni, at least for a few years, their accents became more neutral. Mine too.
We met for a birthday recently, about 25 of us and all of them were STEM guys. You could argue that we became friends because we were all on the same courses but that was not the case. Some did but mostly it was music, pubs and clubs, we mostly just gravitated.

Почему пожилых? Они не выглядят на 80...

This is very timid for me I do not use pretty much any of the accepted links like instagram or x or even facebook etc. I actually just used my artstation to post a diagram a minute ago trying to get some help on figuring out some math things. I hope you like some of my work this is my artstation page https://www.artstation.com/artwork/GzBNa
