What makes certain suggestively functionally superior life forms (certain seemingly life-long, sci-forums mods) devote so much of their invaluable time to herding the collective brain-spaces of so many inferiors instead of achieving in their purported professions?

Unwinding? Might be because I'm Danish, but I found your question to be worded in an odd fashion, so, kinda guessing as to what you meant.

To whom are you referring? I'm quite successful in my profession. At 71 I still get job offers.
