The Need for a much Faster Propulsion than rockets .

Why there is little investment in this tech . Anti-gravity and the like . Because of the implications it would cause .
Transportation for example , moving of goods , could be done much faster and precisely put down .
Trucking companies would be less needed . That's just start . Tourism . Trips that took 5hrs . Done in 5minutes .

Re the cretin River. Blocked him reported him. Your appraisal was accurate. A troll and insufferable bore.
Yes I put him back on Ignore as soon as I realised he was going to start posting again. He actually might be Theorist - another troll who gets a kick out of posting nonsense to annoy scientists. You will never teach river anything. He's not interested.

If you want to ignore me , no problem . Anyone else that wants to ignore me , go ahead . Its your right to do so .
Not every person will ignore me .

Wishful thinking is a wonderful thing. Switch ourselves off to reality and bask in the warm glow of ignorance. Sci-fi novels are rife with the impossible, the unachievable, the fantastical.
So I say we pack a rocket with several bags of magic, close our eyes, light the fuse, and see where our imagination takes us.

Don't have the money to spare . If I was much wealthier I would .
So, if the technology were available right now, how the fuck could you afford to travel 432,000 mph on an anti-gravity propulsion ship?

Because there is no "tech" to invest in. It is currently just a pipe dream - among the likes of time travel and teleportation.

Yes. We can all fantasize about how magical technologies might change the world.

I don't care about the probe . What I want are spaceships with Humans in them going 432,000mph .
And I'd like a device that turns my household trash into an equal weight of gold. Wanting something isn't the same as something being achievable.

There is a lot of money invested in spacecraft drives. The VASIMR drive for one. The Skylon launcher, unfortunately recently canceled. The Orion nuclear pulse project. The NERVA drives.

There is no money invested in "antigravity" for the same reason there is no money invested in photon torpedoes. Neither one exists, nor are they anything other than fictional devices.

All we need to do, obviously, is scoop a bit of dark-energy into a jar and dangle it underneath the spacecraft. Bob's yer Aunty's brother... antigravity propulsion. Assuming, of course, you ignore how that stuff actually works, and ignore that we don't know what it is... or how it works... or what it actually does. Or even if it does actually exist. Mere stumbling blocks on the road to immortality! ;)

Make sure the jar spins otherwise it won't work.

At light speed for one hour is 667,000,000mph . 667million mph .
Rockets are an old technology . They are woefully slow .
To explore this solar system alone we speeds of 50,000mph+ plus . Be able to go to the moon in 5hrs minimum .
To mine the steroid belt even greater speeds .
And tourism . To have trips to the moon . Place to stay . Or go half way and just stop and observe . And go on space walks . Etc.

Rockets will never get us there .

Alternative Propulsion Systems need to be funded and researched . APEC is a start .
They are too slow .

Anti-gravity is quicker in acceleration and speed .
Einstein relativity predicts wormholes. Mathematically .
Practically not possible .
I guess my question is: what model of gravity, you consider?
Is it mainstream model of gravity space time curvature?
If gravity accelerate objects within gravitational field towards object in it centre would anti-gravity be spherical field that accelerate objects away from it source?

So anti-gravity would accelerate objects away from you and you away from objects.

What if there are no objects in neighbourhood?

Would anti-gravity accelerate you against space?

Would it had to be directional for that purpose?

Instead of being spherical.
