The US puts up dictators, makes them seem reasonable, while screwing over millions of people, and for what?, so that macy's can make cheap toys there ?, So that you can steal what natural resources people have left ?. Sorry but the U.S. isn't killing more people right now than any other country that honor goes to Sudan, but if you count the Moslems on Jihad for Islam, Sudan runs a poor second place.
And Singapore is a dictatorship which trades with dictatorships, it has a well established cash and care arms industry, who sell to all with the money to buy.

During the meeting, LG Thein Sein briefed Minister Yeo on the domestic developments in Myanmar, outlining the national reconciliation and economic development efforts. LG Thein Sein and Minister Yeo also discussed bilateral relations, reaffirming the longstanding ties between the two countries. In addition, they exchanged views on closer bilateral economic exchanges, particularly in the area of trade and investment. LG Thein Sein said that Myanmar could be a long-term supplier of sand, cement, granite and other construction materials to Singapore. He also encouraged more Singapore companies to invest in Myanmar.
During the meeting, Minister Yeo also conveyed an invitation letter from President S R Nathan to SPDC Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Than Shwe to visit Singapore.
In the evening, Minister Yeo met the Singaporean Community at a reception held in the Singapore Embassy in Yangon.

It's not a dictatorship, Sure the same party has been in power since independence, but the people have not seen fit to change it. i will admit however, that the government uses strong arm tactics, nothing that cannot be changed if the people see fit.

I've lived in singapore, and i can tell you right now, that it's not as bad as you make it look, Give me the names of these districts BR, and I'll go look at them myself. The citizenry are free to go where they want, they are free to start up their own businesses, they are free to talk about issues concerning themselves as long as they don't spread hate.
There is no giant firewall preventing them from accessing the internet. Nor are there federal agents poking into their library.
The U.S has killed more people in its history than any other country through direct and indirect support of dictators around the globe. That in itself can be matched, but that the US has the gall to maintain the moral high ground while doing so is why many hate you for your obvious hypocrisy.
