It's being displayed on a Jetta 2001, after some browsing haven't found it yet

It means ABS or anti-lock braking system.

@spidergoat: I was thinking on that because it looks like one of those ABS symbols, the weird thing is that the dashboard has another display for ABS that are just the letters. Do you think this is indicating malfunction and the other is just for the display when the system is active?

I thought it would help but I didn't follow through on all of the questions it asked me because I didn't know all of the answers, only you would have. It looked like a good link as far as I went with it, very detailed in questions.
