I think that suicide rates have a lot to do with the extreme income and wealth inequality but also because of poor access to quality healthcare.
i tend to agree with you on a cause and effect level like driving a car and running over someone.
however, the over all violent nature of a society mixed in with its cultural doctrine of directly not caring about others in the community translate to a culture that simply tells everyone by example and culture that they do not care about others and that others do not care about them.
it is a little ironic and somewhat of a dead give-a-away when you look at how many charity organizations are in the USA and yet so little charity goes on.
Capitalism IS the moral Culture and all Capitalism cares about is profit & money and who has the most.
people whom set up access to poor quality health care often do that to be able to steal money and lie about providing real health care.

examples in the ussr(many of the old soviet block countrys) china & India, Bangladesh, Philippines , Malaysia where you need to pay bribes to access the free public system is a good example of where culture defines a different reality from the supposed economic model and ideological laws.
suicide in the usa is at a rate that exceeds the governments ability to conceptualize.
they are completely useless(are are knowingly projecting and creating and maintaining that uselessness deliberately).
instead of creating more mental health medical services they are blaming and suing pharmcos to line their own political pockets for the next election and try and win votes.
(while pretending to inflict their own moral capitalism on capitalism while not changing capitalism)
why are they not suing gun manufacturers at the same time ?

55 people commit suicide with a gun(and thats only the suicides with a gun)
roughly 120 people die every day from opioid over dose. many of those are suicide
but if the government can try and pretend all the opioid over doses are by accident then they can make the suicide statistics go away and avoid the nasty reality of what part guns are playing in suicides.
it is extremely terrible nasty morals and ideologies.
which in turn is a self effacing reality of making culture even less caring
and even less investment into mental health services
meanwhile making people kings of government won suing which makes them king makers and so they get even more power.

when all the little hitlers & political snake oil sales companys have finished adding Zeros to the suing numbers to win news media coverage for their personal media expose'
will there be free drug rehab clinics in all majour citys where an addict can simply walk in and get treatment without needing to rob a bank to pay for it ?
