Smokers Rights

Smokers have the right to smoke wherever and whenever they please, regardless if non-smokers must breathe their second-hand smoke.

Smokers have the right to toss their cigarette wrappings and used butts out the windows of their cars, onto the streets, into lakes, streams, rivers, etc.

Smokers have the right to burden the health care system when they experience health problems due to smoking.

Smokers have the right to add to the existing air pollution, even though it may seem miniscule in comparison.

Smokers are responsible for these issues, and more, each and every day. Therefore, if you don't agree with the above issues, please tell me exactly what you consider to be the rights of smokers if you think they should have any rights at all ?

If you agree, then get bent. :D

1. Smokers have the right to smoke in their own home and designated places for smoking whenever they please, regardless if non-smokers must breathe their second-hand smoke.

2. Smokers do not have the right to toss their cigarette wrappings and used butts out the windows of their cars, onto the streets, into lakes, streams, rivers, etc.

3. Smokers do not have the right to burden the health care system when they experience health problems due to smoking (unless it is a health group made specifically for smokers or something similiar).

4. Smokers have the right to add to the existing air pollution, even though it may seem miniscule in comparison.

Really, i am cool with smoking as long as I don't have to be near it. This is because i'm allergic to it. As long as you don't hurt any one but yourself doing something, I could normally care less. And now to pick me apart :)

smoking ...grrrr.

i want them to contain their smoke so it doesn't wander over into my space. (no kissing guys with cigarette mouth either. yuck.)

i mean, that'd be like me spraying my perfume all over my space...but,...too bad if it wanders over into their's. that's about the extent of it.

alas at my rip old age of 15 I smoke although I know its not good its so relaxing and easy but I agree with what yall said smokers have no right to hurt other pepole by smokeing they should just stop sell it. It would help out every one.

yumyum...

Ever thought about quitting?

My friend dale has a great philosophy:

If you're gonna smoke something, you should at least get high off of it!

yes I have thought about hell I even gave a way my fake id that said I was 19 about 7 hours later I was smokeing a cig a wishing I hadnt gave the id away. drugs nope not anymore just got of probation yesterday. I use to be a coke head but we wont go there now.

Man, I hate to sound like an old fat man trying to get you to sleep with him, but maybe you should give it more effort? Get your hands on something to help you out, gum, the patch, medication, counseling, whatever. But you should give it a shot, it isn't worth it not to.

Smoking = waste of money, breath mints and life.

I tried smoking one time, and I hated it. My mom smokes, and the house ALWAYS reeked, the walls yellowed, and when I went to school, my locker always eminated the pungent odour of tobbaco because of my backpack (which was exposed to my mom's smoke)....yuck yuck.

There is NOTHING I hate more that being at a nice restaraunt, enjoying the company of good friends and good food when suddenly some asshole in the corner decides s/he is going to light one up. If they want their food to taste like an ashtray, let em have it; but I DO NOT want those inconsiderate pricks ruining my meal, which they do.

Smoking should only be permitted in one's home, or in designated pubs etc. Smokers have NO RIGHT to smoke in any restaraunt they choose. Smoking in ANY public place should be banned, just as alcohol is.

Grrrrrrrr.....you struck a nerve I didn't even realize I had :D

Don't care if people smoke tobacco. As long as i get adequate non toxic (in comparison to the second-hand smoke, that is) air. People smoke on my bus, i just open windows. My parents smoke

Tobacco sucks. Disgusting. Health threatening. And you dont even get high from it! Don't see what the point is... must be the nicotine addiction.

In the movie "Hackers," Serial Killer says that spandex is "a privilege, not a right."

I think the same applies to smoking; one should only be granted the privilege of smoking so long as it doesn't interfere with another's rights.

BTW, I agree with you on the whole "but it doesn't make you high" argument. If I'm going to be ruining my lungs, I better be getting some kind of quality effect :D.

I think just about any predicament in life can be somehow related to that movie. Funny thouh, it's not all that well known (or at least well liked)

me

i used 2 go out with a girl who blew smoke in my mouth wen we kiss
then then laugh at me.
rude!

I used to smoke, quit 7 months ago. But I still suck it up if I'm in a car with smokers. When I smoked I couldn't stand the constant whining and bitching from self righteous non-smokers. As a smoker I did the best I could and expected the same from them. So now, as a non-smoker, I try to help them out as much as they try to help me out. Once and a while I have to breath in second hand smoke, which is kinda rough since I still have major cravings, but I'm willing to put up with it since they sometimes have to stick their head out a window or go outside (I live in Canada and it's coooooold out there!)

I agree with whoever made the cologne statement too. I think any powerul odour, even the **pleasant* ones should be banned. People wearing too much cologne should be forced into a counteractive punishment: ie, bathing in pig excrement. The two should cancel each other out.

What the hell am I talking about.....?
