When any such action is taken, there should be a reason stated.

It would be nice to know that the reason is not due to some moderator bias, boredom, whatever.

I am not suggesting that some moderator is actually biased.

Still the moderator should be identified & a reason should be stated.

It's normal practice for a moderator-authored guideline to the forum to be both sticky (so it appears near the top regardless of how old it is) and locked (so it doesn't get polluted by commentary without official sanction).

That is the case for the 2009 thread Definitions: Theism, Atheism, Agnosticism

Firstly, we are not visually impaired, so you do not need to bold and make your text so big.

Secondly, you appear to have missed this in the OP of that thread:

If you wish to debate any of these terms then please create a specific thread for that purpose.

The definition thread was created to give definitions of theism, atheism and agnosticism... I did not think it would need to be explained, but I am clearly wrong..

And finally, if you wish to know who started the thread, you can easily rectify that by looking at the name of the person that appears on the left hand side of each post. In this instance, if you look at the left hand side of the opening post in that thread, you will see that the thread was started by Cris, someone who used to moderate the religion forum.

Since his definition is pretty good and standard for such terms, we have left it as it is.

If you disagree with those definitions, you are free to open a thread to debate the definition(s), as clearly stated in the OP.

I think reason is less important than reasoned.

Typically, a note is posted to any thread that is closed by a moderator. It will usually be the last post of the thread.
