I find it interesting how orgasms had through sex are much more powerful than those had from masturbation.
Sometimes, (and I know I'm not alone on this one) I will try and see how many times I can orgasm in a given time frame. The first orgasm I'll have is pretty sweet. Almost always the best one I will have that day. On a scale of 0-9, I'd say they're usually about a 3. But the further along my self-loving marathon I go, the lesser and lesser the intensity until by the 8th time or so I'm wondering if I orgasmed at all.
However, when I'm having sex with a girl, it's different. The orgasms are waaaay more powerful. I'd say that the first orgasm I'd have would be about a 7 or 8. And the interesting thing, as I have more and more orgasms in a setting, they do not wane in intensity; in fact, they seem to get stronger. In fact, I think my last sex-derived orgasm was the strongest one I've ever had period (9). And it was my 6th one that night. Whereas if I were masturbating, I probably wouldn't have even noticed it at all.
Obviously a lot of this is because the body is able to distinguish between masturbation and intercourse. But what I am interested in is how the brain knows this difference. I think a lot of it is because there is a lot more sensation involved with sex than masturbation. And I guess I'm interested in what those sensations and perceptions are (I'm sure some are more important than others.).
Would it be possible to trick our bodies into having sex orgasms when we're actually just masturbating? If so I'm sure we'll be in for a new plethora of high-tech sex toys/porn/software to exploit this finding in the coming decades.
