How much will you be willing to donate:

All feedback replies can only help. What are you comfortable with?

The idea behind this poll is to help all of us to figure out how much to donate without going WAY OVERBOARD. In other words, if every member who votes here actually does donate the amount which (s)he checks, then we should be able to get a pretty good idea of how the funding situation is going to come out next month. I hope I wrote that clearly enough.

The results will help our glorious leader (porfiry) to determine whether or not to Invoke the Dreaded POPUP ADS ! ! ! of the possibly near future.

Thanks, Aussie, for posting this poll. I going to post this sort of thing myself, but you beat me to it.

So, before you vote, please consider that donors/subscribers will, in the near future, be the only ones with access to avatars, signatures, forum archives, and private messaging. These are features that aren't essential to the core sciforums experience, but together may constitute a nice 'reward' package for subscribers and may be a justified expense when priced at a few dollars per month. This poll will definitely help me figure out the tolerable pricing for this.

i would love to help you dave but i am very unlikly to be able to:(

i am going overseas as an aid worker hopefully soon and so i gess i will lose sciuforums:(

What a sterling idea! So where do we sign? :D

I think this is a great idea. I'm new to sciforums and am quickly becomming addicted, and I'm sure the more addicted I become the more I'd be willing to donate and get the extra features. Your idea should help newbies stay interested and hooked :)

no pop-ups!!!

Please no pop-ups. Can there be any other alternative? BY THE WAY, HOW WOULD THEY BILL OR send donation to?

Dude! Let the rest of the globe catch up! It was midnight here
when you posted, and The Fish needs his beauty rest (desperately!).

The entertainment factor alone is worth 5 beans a month to me.
Popup ads? Those are for people who won't or can't contribute
so that everyone is "paying" to support our beloved forums here.
Dave, perhaps a two-tier membership? That way, some who
might not be able to afford the "standard" membership could still
contribute something. A slice of pie is better than no pie at all.

Peace.

As you already know, I can't contribute a lot, but I'm sure I could wangle a subscription as Birthday present
