Sony has announced plans to develop a robot “capable of forming an emotional bond with customers.”
Sony’s chief executive Kazuo Hirai did not disclose specific details about the robots, but says it will propose new business models that integrate hardware and services to provide emotionally compelling experiences.
Sony is not the only compnay trying to make the human-robot interaction as warm and fuzzy as possible. Japanese telecoms company SoftBank made similar “emotional” claims about its Pepper companion robot, while Boston Dynamics has unveiled earlier the SpotMini, a robot with a sense of humor.

Well, it's all about how authentic the outer appearances of a robot's behavior and conversations will be to the customer. So no problem with it being a zombie, and at least it's not otherwise deceptive (apart from being programmed to tell some therapeutic white lies when it's role is as friend or companion, and when it's serving as a guide, salesman or shill for a company).

Whereas humans who DO have some of their processes internally exhibited to them as feelings and emotional experiences can still -- despite that -- successfully fool others in malevolent ways with false outer appearances, when they don't correspond to their actual psychological states (including indifference).

The robot is designed for unconditional duty -- it's got no personal life problems and departing interests / preferences of its own to distract it from its job / engineered purpose. We won't have to wait on alien spore "body snatchers" to replace us.

[Bold emphasis above is mine]

Thats because humans have a soul... an sinse this soul is non-biological it can only be duplicated by God... therfor... the best we will ever be able to create is a Zombie which is indistinguishable from a human.!!!
