Tomorrow, I am going to participate in the local American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. I will be taking the Survivor's lap.
9 years ago I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. I had my right kidney removed, and was fortunate that it had not yet spread to anywhere else.
I was lucky in that my cancer was detected early enough and was of a type that was at least treatable. Others are not so lucky.
