Quotes to remember

"Легче быть героем, чем порядочным человеком. Героем можешь быть иногда, а порядочным - всегда". А.П.Чехов.

"Одиночество - вещь великая, но всё же неплохо иметь кого-нибудь рядом". А.П.Чехов.

This idea intrigues me; it's more difficult to be consistently decent than rise to the occasion now and then to be 'heroic?'

"If you believe in magic, you're not alone, but magic is only magic to those who do not understand what it truly is."

"The power of magic is not in a spell, but in the processes that enable innovators to successfully produce the intended results over and over; most call this science."

It doesn't sound like something Einstein would have said, however.
Actually, you’re correct, James. I did a little research and it’s not a direct quote, rather it’s considered “apocryphal,” being attributed to him because of other (direct) quotes of his, that had a similar theme like this one: The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science.

I think he viewed “the mysterious” in this context as separate and away from spirituality/religion, but not 100% certain. Einstein seemed curious about spirituality though, in a broad sense, which doesn’t automatically lean towards one religion or faith belief over another.

Was it the word “miracle” from that quote I posted, that made you question the source?

Maybe nothing is a miracle if you're simply playing his so called "secular" persona position.

Maybe nothing is truly miraculous, but only natural and non God oriented. It's just a term utilized in many cultures across the globe. It doesn't require a religious utilization. You can still utilize the term as if there's no such thing, ya know. People utilize the term God that way, too. Mysterious may or may not have been the more appropriate and accurate quote. I doubt it, but you may be more moral than I am.

Maybe. I believe in God but understand your point. In terms of morality, it's subjective, so no one should feel 'superior' to someone else.

Actually, I was simply suggesting that you may hold a more correct or right position than I do. I like to dumb the term morality down to those basics. Error/Correct, wrong/right, false/true.

This operates superbly on subjective levels, which helps illustrate individual moral correctness in contrast to broad brushing the lot with someone else's idea of moral correctness.

By the way, I'm holy spirit guided and that spirit of truth leads me more correctly than other individuals might like to lead me. It's a truer application of the holy Spirit than what some people like to claim is holy spirit guidance.

But, alas, I'm a sinner and fall short sometimes, even when I utilize that spirit. When I must lie, there's a valid reason to lie that takes into account other truths. Sometimes, I must choose the greater truth rather than the lesser, and for this reason I fall short of being totally and completely truthful at times, but only when pressed into such a position.

Всем гениям присуще парадоксальное мышление. Способный человек хорошо решает сложные задачи. А гениальный - порождает совершенно запретные идеи. (Святослав Медведев).
