I'd like to start a debate on the subject known, or should I say formerly known as physics. You see, other sciences such as chemistry and Biology have their own unique theories and standards, physics is not so unique, its not so unique from mathematics. I'd like a formal change of the word "physics" to simply mathematics, or something like "conceptual mathematics" or "physical mathematics", conceptual mathematics really catches the idea, and die hard physics fans should make do with physical mathematics. Its a discredit to mathematics to even create some arbitrary name for a science that is 80% mathematics. I know what you are thinking; what about all the laws and theories in physics? First of all most of those laws are also in chemistry, thermodynamics e.t.c, and you can always apply most of them to particle chemistry. However I will admit that a few rules in physics can only be best illustrated in physics, I only ask that we change its name to something containing mathematics. This would also fish off many auxilliary, weird, and absract theories which some may figure to be physics. Much of the world of physics is Geometry, concept of space, trig, calculus, linear algebra, e.t.c- all mathematics. I know what you are thinking; what about quantum physics? I haven't really thought about that one yet. What do you think?
