If this is true, then that 17 year old needs to be awarded a Darwin Award.
If he knowingly and purposely was messing with a 300 lb cat with 4 inch razor sharp claws, he deserved exactly what he got.

And aside from it having the capability to shred you, why would want to mess with a beautiful creature like that anyway? I mean she was just sitting in her cage minding her own bid'nes when some punk bitch teenager comes along and starts throwing shit at her.
I hope that when the family sues the zoo, and the judge sees that he was taunting the tiger, that he/she throws it out of the court.

Whether or not the teen did anything to provoke the attack there are those people out there who do provoke animals at zoos when they think no one is watching them. I've seen it happen at different zoos. Once a couple of kids were throwing rocks at the monkeys and another time some ass had a branch which he was breaking up and throwing the pieces at giraffes. Unless the zoos get better security for the animals I believe that this type of situation will continue and even get worse.

Correction: he WAS 17.

And how old do you have to be to know throwing anything at a caged amimal is NOT the thing to do? 18? 20? 35?

I agree it was a tragic death and that the investigation isn't over yet either - so the accusation is unproven at this point. But just how old does an idiot have to be before he's responsible for his actions?

They threw SHIT at her too? No wonder she was pissed! Tigers hate the smell of human shit!

Maybe he deserved what he got, and maybe he didn't, but you know, few people deserve to be hit by a truck, either, and a lot of people manage this by driving carelessly or simply walking in front of them.
 
I think everyone is born deserving to be eaten by a tiger, it's up to you to somehow avoid it.
I don't think you can pity someone for being killed by a tiger, or be outraged or anything, it's not that kind of death.
Even if the guy wasn't throwing stones, he got killed by a tiger, what a dickhead, he deserved it.
 
Anyone who harasses a caged animal deserves what he gets. wtf? :mad:

So if your kid threw rocks at your neighbour's dog, and the dog retaliated by jumping at your kid's throat and killing him ruthlessly, you'd just smile from the porch and say, "he deserved it!"

Of course I'd think it was awful.. but you can't really blame the animal can you ?
Then, dogs are different.. they have been domesticated. Killer dogs are the result of irresponsible upbringing by the owners.
If you mess with wild animals don't be surprised to find yourself on the receiving end of a mauling.

I never blamed the animal. I was only saying that the kid didn't deserve it, and that mikenostic should show some more compassion for such a grisly death. I can't believe people think he deserved to die for throwing rocks. Of course, it's just as difficult to believe that these same people would say this if the person who was killed was their own son.
 
I feel bad for the guys that were mauled at the cafe. Those kids tormented the tiger, it retaliated, and then it went after innocent people. Then the tiger was shot to death.

So, yeah, I don't feel too bad for him. Look at the fall out of what they did. Boys will be boys my ass. :mad:

But he brought it on himself though... it was his own stupidity.
It just how you look at it I think, in a way you could say he deserved it I guess..
 
I hope the familes of the 2 men who were mauled sue them.
Since when is it ok to hurt an animal like that?

yes, it was a wild animal attacking and killing people. Bad animal BAD!
I hope they get charged with manslaughter and animal abuse.
