Yeah, only thing I can do is a south african is apologize for what elon says, though he was in perfect working order when he left for the states.

There is not enough money in the world to make me accept Russian "spirituality and morality". Im happy where I am. When I see life in Russia, it makes me more grateful for what I have.

PS, our government loves Russia, that was not what I was commenting on. We talking about advancement, and Im sorry, theres no (except in nuclear powered ice breakers?) where I Russia leading in anything. Other than casualties on the battlefield.

Alexei. Not translating Olga's posts but I gather she has been applying lipstick to the warthog of Russian politics. I figured someone would point out Navalny's fate. And that Olga has been somewhat shielded from that unpleasantness. No one wants to read about S. American dart frog toxin while they're eating their kasha in the morning! Pretty soon there would be upset stomach as one realizes that one's country regularly murders or drives out its smartest and most visionary people.

Its actually hard getting good news about whats happening in Russia. You can go to Russia Today, but most of it a psyop aimed at an International audience about international issues. It gives you the "russian" perspective on these issues. Thats all fine, but ACTAUL domestic news is really hard to get it. One of the best places I get my Russian domestic news is from a BBC channel that specializes in buying all the local newspapers and going through the headlines.

Other than that I use Ground News for my general news (I like to know who is behind the news I read and how factual they are) and hundreds of other sources all over the world. Including my own country which is bff`s with Russia.

What news could I get from you that I cant get from your newspapers? I dont think you part of any resistance, so not sure you could tell me more than what I get from your official newspapers. Though I suppose some really localized politics would be interesting.

Admittedly, and depending on the source, that occasionally can lead to enlightenment. For instance, there are a lot of geopolitical experts and influencers predicting the collapse of China via its demographic crisis and other factors.

But then you come across an expatriate actually living in China, working for a Western company, who methodically goes through debunking the various claims. And then you realize that these long-distance doomsday forecasts for the Sino-world are just part of that same brand of over-optimistic idiocy dating back to the 1990s. When many Western capitalists believed that China's economic opening and integration into global markets would bring about a gradual dissolving of the CCP regime and transition to democracy.

I have no opinion on his guilt or innocence, that's for the legal system. I do say a large amount of what he is doing as president is stupid at best, and what isn't is being accomplished in the wrong manner.
 
Moderator note: Olga has previously been asked on numerous occasions to post in English to sciforums. She has now received a warning to post in English in future on this forum.
