Need A Clue.???

Just a passing nod to that scene in Citizen Kane, where he drops the snow globe on the floor. (I missed winning yesterday, having figured it out but didn't get back until Sarkus had already deduced the answer) That was a clever puzzle of yours (as usual), because the air bubble gave it an unusual look.

It it wasn't for bad luck Kane wouldn't have had any luck at all.!!!

An Yes... this puzzler thread is unforgiving/tricky;;; must strike when the iron is hot :D

Hmm... what have we here.???
Penny-Water.jpg

Clingfilm on top of a bowl?
No clingfilm.!!!

Clue:::

The bowl was toward the front edge of the kitchen counter... an was lit from the left by a ceiling light over the sink... an over the stove light to the right an a 4 bulb ceiling light in the middle of the kitchen.!!!

So the coin is floating on water ?

This latest puzzle...I feel we have the "what" but not the "how." So it's a submerged penny in a bowl of water that somehow creates the uncanny impression it is floating on and dimpling the surface. And possibly involves an invisible strand of wire. We also have enigmatic details about lighting, shadow, and Vaseline. I don't know what else to guess.

The winer is ---------->>> The Puzzler :cool:

One end of the wire is bent into a 1/4" circle to balance the penny on... the other end is stuck into a little glob of modelling clay (which is stuck on the bottom of the bowl)... an when viewed from a particular angle... the wire is not visible an the penny now apears to be floating in air.!!!
Then cool water (keeping the clay firm) is added to the bowl just until it rises above the penny... which is easy to do since the penny has a thin coat of Vaseline on it.!!!
