More Scientific Nonsense

One of the worlds most respected scientists is spouting off more racist nonsense in yet another attempt to cause more problems in the Modern World. Its bad enough with little Dickie Dawkins ranting at Muslims/Jews/you name it without letting these lunatics off the leash to lecture more calm headed folk whose foundations are based on age old spiritual values of 'Love They Neighbour.

Its time to put keep these Mad Scientists locked up firmly in their Laboratories whilst harmlessly breeding white mice, injecting monkeys with strange chemicals and forcing canines to smoke Marlboro's. And if the Animal Lib brigade feel a need to set the animals free then that fine - just as long as you don't let the scientists out at the same time - they're dangerous!

The American scientist earned a place in the history of great scientific breakthroughs of the 20th century when he worked at the University of Cambridge in the 1950s and 1960s and formed part of the team which discovered the structure of DNA. He shared the 1962 Nobel Prize for medicine with his British colleague Francis Crick and New Zealand-born Maurice Wilkins.

He is only one of thousands of scientists. I don't see any others standing up for him so to me he is out on a limb already and is going to fall off. I guess he really is a bigot but it took all of these years for us to see him for who he really is. It is too bad he has taken this stand because it is really based upon his opinions of the facts not the facts themselves. Whenever a "scientist" breaks away from the rest of the pack they tend to be sometimes forgetting to see the truth but let their hate get in the way of reason.
 
That may well be true if he were any old scientist.

Sadly he is exclaiming upon a subject he is not only an expert on but also recieved the Nobel Prize for. Modern science has always had a keen interest in the study of eugenics and genetics and the ensuing result nearly always ends in tears.

As for the multitude of scientists who disagree...well maybe they could start doing that. Where are these eager scientists prepared to stand up and call James Watsons research utter rubbish.

Few and far between. Scientists have never been noted for their courage in speaking out...one only has to cast a glance at the Nazi's. Don't you find it rather reveling that it was the Artists who left Nazi Germany in droves whilst the scientists meekly stayed behind.

Why is it left to speakers for Racial Equality to speak out?

Or Politicians?

How can they be taken seriously when they are NOT scientists. Or is it just that scientists exist on an even lower level than Politicians in the public consciousness?

Where are the scientists who are brave enough to tell this racist - and no doubt Atheist! - scientist to keep his idiotic speculations to himself?

Google 'racist scientists': 2.000.000 results for 'racist scientists'.
 
What's wrong with racism? If someone or some group wants to dislike or hate some other group of people, what's wrong with that?

And if someone, some scientist, discovers some distinction in the races, why shouldn't he publish his findings? Or do y'all want all scientists to believe exactly as you do?

I agree with the Baron. Imagine if a perfect intelligence test was constructed, that would give an exact numerical value to the persons intelligence, that would hold all scientific scrutiny. Now if the use of this test would almost immediately start to show distinguishable statistic differences between different groups of people, should the test be called immoral and racist, and should it be banned? Or should the test be used to evaluate all people before educational options are presented to them or before they are employed to certain areas?

What would the motive of employing such a test be ?
 
I would speculate that the use of this test would be to evaluate a statistical probability of the given person succeeding in the given job, or failing to do a satisfactory job. If the test says that the person is 90% likely to be unable to perform the tasks as necessary over time, it is certain that the employer would prefer not to employ the person and choose someone who would be 90% likely to do a good job, based on the "absolute intelligence test".

If it were scientifically supported and at least in principle accepted by the scientific community, should it be put to use in life?

If it was shown that some ethnic groups have a slightly lower intelligence than the rest, what would you do with this information ?

To settle this argument ...and the thousands of similar arguments that will be with us forever. If we had such a test, then we could immediately point to the results to prove ....ahh, whatever the results said. You, for example, could prove that all races are of equal intelligence if that's what the test results proved. Or if not, then the racists could point to the tests to prove his own beliefs.

See? Solves the problems of racism forever. Wouldn't you want that?

And then racists could hate other races ...well, just because they wanted to but wouldn't have any "reasons" to do so.

Your statement made me think of that movie Gattaca. Have you ever seen it?
It's not so much based on intelligence, as it was genetics. It's based in the future and everything you do is based on your genetics.

So it would be used as a tool for racists.
Do you think it is right, or even sane, to hate a people because they are less intelligent ? IF there are slight differences they are just that, slight differences. Which have no influence on anyones life whatsoever.

Well, depending on the results, sure. But if it conclusively proved that all races are of equal intelligence, then it would debunk some of the racists' reasoning.

Okay, maybe. So what's wrong with those things if some people want to do it? Just because you don't like those things, isn't it obvious to you that others do like them? If no one liked the things you've noted, why is there so much of it in the world?
