Men hate competing with women

"Men who compete with other men whether it be at sport or in business do so with certain commaradery. It's all slapping on the back, grabbing each others testicles, wishing the opponent good luck and enjoying the challenge.

BUT if that opponent is female, out come the knives, the venom, the dirty tricks. Derogative comments, back stabbing and sexism, anything they can pull out of the bag to get the woman out of the race altogether.

Men do not want to compete with women. Why? Do they fear losing to women because in their minds women are weak and losing to one therfore means they are weak?"

Its the same for the women aswell, women dont want to seem weak or lower to a man so we will do anything to beat the man.

Also at schools in Uk they dont have unisex races or contests, because its causes problems between the boys and girls.

yes but we do compete with them, we don't try to eliminate them from the race. So there is a difference..a BIG one.

out of the race altogether are the words you used!

Change the word "men" to "boys" and I'd agree completely. A man should have enough confidence in himself to be comfortable with losing to a better person.

Don't be an imbecile. There is no 'fellowship' when men compete against each other. Any smiles and hand shaking you've witnessed are just for show. In the real world, it's dog eat dog. It doesn't matter if the adversary is a man or woman.

Are you an Aussie? If not, watch the AFL, and then try telling me with a straight face that men are friendly when competing.

Hah, just imagine:

"Oh, what's that, Mr. Whitey? You've driven my business into bankruptcy, and financially ruined me? Oh, good show, old chap! You certainly were a worthy adversary. I salute you!"

well at least they put on a show of cammaradery, women get no such consideration. They try to destroy the competition before the race has taken place.

So You didn't notice the words "certain camaraderie"? In sport are you saying that competing teams don't go for a drink together afterwards? Fellowship exists.

During the game is one thing, afterwards is another...

Strawman. There will be always be exceptions of course. ToR was talking generally.

CF,

I don't think I quite understand the context that you are trying to get across. Are you talking about a female like playing touch football out in the yard with her male friends and what not or are you talking about mens sports vs. womens?
If you are talking about a woman just going out and playing with her friends for fun (as in co-ed), then yeah, I can see where you're point to an extent. But AFAIC, if a woman wants to play touch football (which can include blocking and pushing and an occasional 'hit' tackle), then she better be able to hold her own with us. She will get blocked, she will get bumped and definitely pushed or hit if she catches a pass. That's part of the game toots. If she can hold her own playing with the guys, more power to her. If she can't, then she needs to take her ass to the sideline and quit bitching.

That brings me to my next question, why does it bother you women so much when we do that? You women bitch about men to the point where it seems you don't want anything to do with us, yet you cry and whine when we don't want to include you in anything. When we do include you, all you wanna do is bitch about fair treatment and whine when you don't get it, or even whine when you do get it. The vast majority of women that have a bug up their ass to play with men so bad, usually have something to prove; and who wants to play, or even associate with women like that?

Oli:
So You didn't notice the words "certain camaraderie"?

I noticed. And I disagree.

In sport are you saying that competing teams don't go for a drink together afterwards?

I've never heard of the above occuring in a situation where two teams were competing for more than 'fun'. Maybe they do, but that doesn't change the fact that there is no 'camaraderie' when they are actively competing. Quite the contrary, violence is quite common in sport, even in supposed 'non-contact' sports (soccer).

Fellowship exists.

1. Prove it.

2. Demonstrate that such fellowship doesn't extend to the opposite sex.

During the game is one thing, afterwards is another...

You're right, it is another thing. They are no longer competing. Hence, your observation is completely irrelevant.

Strawman.

"Men who compete with other men whether it be at sport or in business do so with certain commaradery."

Obviously the above statement is bullshit. A businessman doesn't congratulate his opponent on forcing him into bankruptcy and financial ruin.

ToR is full of hot air. And so are you. I'm a male, and I can tell you that I feel no particular 'commaradery' for my fellow man. I will stomp, smash, and backstab where-ever possible to get ahead.

I took a quick look at your profile, and noticed that you were 51. Perhaps you grew up in different times. From what I've experienced, today's generation will screw anyone over to get to the top.

During the game is one thing (although players congratulate each other during a game if their opponent plays particularly well). Before a game they wish each other luck...
1. Prove it.
Personal experience? Why should I care one way or the other if someone beats me? It just shows that they were better, at that time - so it's an incentive for me to improve my skills.
2. Demonstrate that such fellowship doesn't extend to the opposite sex.
Doesn't extend to the opposite sex? Hmm, "beaten by a girl", how many times have I heard that from a guy? I've seen normally good losers go ape when beaten by a female. It's okay to get beaten by a guy (in their eyes) because they're guys. But being beaten by a woman.. unthinkable.
You're right, it is another thing. They are no longer competing. Hence, your observation is completely irrelevant.
How about before the game?
Obviously the above statement is bullshit. A businessman doesn't congratulate his opponent on forcing him into bankruptcy and financial ruin.
Not for bankruptcy maybe, but for beating him at business acquisition? Or getting an order? I've been there when it was done.

Then you have my sympathies. Seriously.

Not true. They'll TRY... age and experience etc. The difference of course, is that my generation are aware that "this too shall pass" and winning isn't everything...
Or maybe me and my associates/ acquaintances are far more realxed about life and have our priorities sorted. :D

Basically as Oli correctly noted, this is a reality not a work of fiction and any woman or man who has worked with members of the opposite sex knows it.

Men in sports do shake hands on and off the field. There is a reason they don't shake hands with women and that is that THEY REFUSE to compete with them. There are many sports where men and women could compete in the same race/sport but they do not...why?

In buisness, women are held back all the time by resentful men and men are very personal to women who try to get ahead of them. They don't 'bitch' about fellow males in quite the same way as they with women.

When men in business make sexual advances to women at work it can be a means of domination. Asserting their manliness etc.

ToR:

So? They doesn't demonstrate commaradery. It just demonstrates that society feels it is appropriate for them to shake hands. A looongg time back when I practiced martial arts, we always bowed before and after sparring. But I definitely didn't feel any sense of 'commaradery'.

There is a reason they don't shake hands with women

I shake the hand of women. I've seen numerous men shake a woman's hand. What are you on about?!

There are many sports where men and women could compete in the same race/sport but they do not...why?

Because physically, men and women don't have the same potential in certain physical activities?

And don't even get me started on contact sports.

In buisness, women are held back all the time by resentful men

Do you have any statistical evidence to support the above assertion? And can you demonstrate that men hold women back precisely because they are women, and not just because they happen to be competition?

Quite simply, men are often held down by other vindicative males higher up on the pecking order. If you want to be treated as an equal, you'd better get used to it.

There is a reason they don't shake hands with women and that is that THEY REFUSE to compete with them.

BOYS, not men, are the ones that don't shake hands with women.
How many times do I have to say it? :D

So? They doesn't demonstrate commaradery. It just demonstrates that society feels it is appropriate for them to shake hands.
The shaking of hands is an indication of fellowship and sportsmanship.
A looongg time back when I practiced martial arts, we always bowed before and after sparring. But I definitely didn't feel any sense of 'commaradery'.
Then you missed the whole point.

Oli:
The shaking of hands is an indication of felowship and sportsman ship.

The problem is that from what I've seen of sport (Cricket and Australian Football), sports is anything BUT sportsmanship. Pushing, shoving, taunting, and fights breaking out between individuals (or even both teams!)

This tells me that shaking hands is nothing more than a formality, an exception imposed by society. Professional athletes have no real respect for each other. They train to win, and fuck anyone who stands in their way.

Personally, I think it's a joke. Why would I want to shake the hand of someone who is trying to humiliate on national TV, and potentially result in a cut of my pay?

Then you missed the whole point.

Ahh, but it also proves my point. Merely because two people engage in niceties, does not mean that 'commaradery' is present.
