Man Living As A Baby

How is this fantasy and not a mental illness? Why would anyone want to cling to infancy?

link

Cool link. I think if he is aware that he is not an infant and it is only an act then it is fantasy. That is not to say that even being aware precludes him from having some mental problems. If someone were looking for mental problems then acting like an infant would be a good place to look.:D I dont know, in some ways real mental problems are just that...a problem, so if it is not a problem for him and\or others then maybe not a mental problem. Not that i would know.:p

From a sociological perspective thats exactly what the medieval lords did and what celebrities currently do. They suround themselves with people to forfil there every desires just like mum and dad did when they were babies.

no, I don't think its even close to being the same. Having a chef is not the same as eating baby food and drinking from a baby bottle. Having a maid to clean the bathroom is not the same as wearing a diaper.
Not the same at all

Orly, how would you feel if I mentioned a "friend " that has had multiple girls (meaning more than three with XX genes and normal genitals) that liked to role play as infants?

Including coloring books, stuffed animals, baby bottles (though filled with red wine, not milk) and *diapers / nappies*, which they actually used? (At least to soak completely wet)

Would you find this disgusting? Would you say I am a liar? Just curious...

I always ask...Is anyone getting injured?
Don't see any hurt going on here.
Wouldn't do it for me, I'm into mastery, not infancy, but...

You got your psycological degree where? What makes you think they care what you think?

Personally my partner and I are into light whips and chains, guess how much I care if you think that's wrong?:p

I know other people into a lot of different fetishes and I tell you they wouldn't care either if you aprove

You want to know where something becomes a.mental illness? When it starts detrementally effecting someones life it becomes a mental health issue. Up to that point its whatever they want it to be

My chef changes my depends . Some times he/she washes his/her hands

Just joking , Me gardener does it with his gardening shears

Just joking . I don't ware depends . I just let it fly were it flies

I didn't say I didn't find it odd.
I just think it's harmless and makes the guy happy.

It's hard enough to be happy in this world without worrying about what the neighbors think.

@ Asgard:
The one time I got my wife to tie me up, she would only tickle me.
I wanted her to use something...stingy.
Dammit.

Okey-doke. At first I thought this referred to a sexual fetish but now I see its deeper than that. He's not doing this for sexual satisfaction and he's not shagging that nurse, what he's done is completely reconstructed his private life so that he lives much of the time as a 'baby'. He says he's doing it to relax as if he's cracking a beer or something. At least the sexual fetish is something one would do as sex role play but then they live most of their private lives as adults but this...I wouldn't call it a mental illness but yeah there is something definitely going on with this guy.

Just think of all the restrictions, he would have to find a woman who is interested in having a man who pretends to be a baby when he's hanging out at home, never mind sex, he's just lounging around in his diaper and playing with Lego. I don't think you can invite many people to your house when your bed is a crib and your rec room is a play pen. I mean think about it. I would also imagine him actually having a baby of his own would be a little bit complicated.

He's definitely avoiding something.

disgust and sex have nothing to do with it. Its a man pretending he is a baby. I simply asked why its not a mental illness and why someone would cling to infancy.

that's what I'm wondering. Do peopel who want to be be infants have horrible childhoods so they want to create a perfect one or did they have perfect childhoods and want to reclaim it?

I'm not sure, its a reasonable assumption but I don't know enough about this condition to say. I just think having the sexual fetish of infantilism is a different bag of apples than actually wanting to live as an infant. The lifestyle must be very isolating.

Lets review...

First, where did you get "sex" from? (Not who, by the way... :p)

I don't see where my post addressed (or undressed - can't help it) this subject at all. Perhaps you were referring to Asguard's previous post?

Secondly, the word disgust was used in a question directed towards you, personally. Which I note that you conveniently avoided answering.

Finally, if you are referring to Paraphilic Infantalism, to my knowledge it is indeed a recognized psychiatric condition.
The definition of infantilism used to include such things as sexual immaturity, mental illness, child like behavior carried into adulthood, psychosis, etc. These definitions, however, were used before Money, Nutter, and a few others who came to recognize infantilism as a paraphilia, fetish, or sexual disorder. These men along with Stekel have been pioneers in the field of paraphilic infantilism, and have taken the subject out of the dark, narrow depths of the legal world and into the light of understanding. Kinky and bizarre are the popular words for paraphilic sexual fantasies and practices. Legally, they are called perverted and deviant. Medicine and science only recently gave up using the legal terms and adopted for full-time use the formerly neglected, biomedical term, paraphilic, and its noun paraphilia. The person with a paraphilia is a paraphiliac, or paraphile
My understanding is that this particular condition sometimes, if not often, presents accompanied by Narcissism

As to the why, your guess is as good as any, but the reasons usually cited boil down to childhood neglect / abuse, high pressure vocations, etc. - IOW the usual suspects...
(The article I cited above on infantilism delves into these somewhat)

Having said all that, there do seem to be a number of people with related sexual fantasies, such as Urolagnia, or good old fashioned "golden showers". Is this perhaps what you were referring to? My understanding is that people may practice many variations of this particular fetish for a variety of reasons, whereas Infantilism usually involves regression - you know, to an infantile state.

Did you find this information more helpful? Will you now answer my questions?

I didn't avoid it, I didn't understand the question
It doesn't disgust me. I'm just curious as to why

what would make it a mental illness?

BTW, thanks for sharing, Randy.
They could be peeing on your friend...

Either way, not too weird...the only thing that really icks me out when people talk about it is scat-play.
I can't help thinking "Hepatitis! hepatitis!"

Something else this thread makes me think of:
There was this absolutely enormous and gregarious guy who used to work security at a store near where I lived...as in about 6'7" and probably around 400 pounds...
He was a funny guy, and I didn't find him creepy.

But he was quite open about his love of being a great big masochist.
Which I thought highly amusing.

He didn't say this, but I have ever after had this image of him strapped to a crucifix and being flogged by multiple pretty women...with a giant smile on his face...

You know what they say about masochists, if ya can't join 'em, beat 'em.:D
