A belief is no less valid than any doubt or skepticism.
Someone believes they are Superman with Superman powers and abilities

I am doubtful and skeptical that they are Superman and have those powers and abilities

Are you contending that both positions, his and mine, are equally valid?

:)

Not really. You can believe that you have driven your car to the Moon; I might doubt that. My doubt would be more valid than your belief. Even if you really, really, really believe it with all your heart.

Elon Musk believed he could drive a car to Mars. :)
1st there was voyager
then there was an electric car...
if one was to suggest alien contact were based on results driven achievements, the electric car would be a place holder for an alien to take a second look to see if there were less wars & more shared resources...
no self respecting alien is going to bother coming to plunder a world that is not fighting its self

What if you doubt say the holocaust?

What if you doubt say the holocaust?
The holocaust is an event that passes the 'preponderance of evidence' test.
Passes it, crosses the finish line jogging backwards, steals the trophy and drinks the night away with the pit-bunnies on a beach, while your disbelief is still tying up its Reeboks.

Anecdotes are not evidence.

Is there reliable photographic evidence of a man's disappearance & good reason to believe that the photographs have not been tinkered via Photoshop activities?

This thread kinda' reminds of something I read a long time ago on this forum and which I thought was hilarious:

I'm a survivor of spontaneous human combustion.
