I was really hoping this would be your response, because in this case, I'm curious why any of us, especially the four of us accused of sexual harassment against you should give two rats arses about your complaint.

I never at once made a joke about you making, offering or conducting oral sex. I made an obvious, albiet badly-timed joke, about the undiably hunkiness of Brad Pitt in his younger years. If you think you have a leg to stand on with me, you are wrong.


As a mod, I implore you to ban me, for a day. I can't put up with these blatant lies from the moderatorship.

James, as far as I am concerned, has shown very little hostility. He's tried to explain to you that there are no ''written'' votes. Yet you kept saying it is already decided... well... he decided to ban me and four others.

As far as the charge I was given, I'll tell you what happened. I am a bit of investigator.

James most likely used the charge ''sexual harassment'' as a shortened term for our intervention in the sexual harassment thread. Yet no mod has came in here to claim this has been the case... which makes me wonder.

As far as I am concerned with you, you show little empathy to those who could use your help, to someone you falsely accused in the first place but had sympathy for what happened to you.

... I'll shut up if my question is answered. When I made my joke, I continued with another post, saying I was just making a joke but I had a serious question... and my question was this:


''Where there any existing rules at sciforums about sexual misconduct?''


My question was never answered, I was banned the next day as you know. I don't mind this, to hell with that and I don't wish to argue about anything any more. But I am really really curious about this question, because if there are existing rules, then it's clear, the thread should locked and the ban upheld. If there are none, then politically-speaking, it's only wise to unban the person and make the rules clear to the public about personal messaging, especially when it concerns sexual matters.

this is my two cents and I will shut up for now.

I'll deserve a one day ban, since Bell's blatently lied about any implication of myself implying jokes about her conducting oral sex. I think both sides have erred. My main fault... was my quick temper. I apologize for it and expect a punishment. You don't need to add fuel to the fire because you are sour twisted piece of... well... you know.

If anyone takes this as a ''serious analogy'' of my statement about Brad Pitt, then I pity the mentality here.

I have pretty much come to just expect it off origin however, he favors the same agenda about getting me banned from the place.
 
Okay, this is now sufficiently so off-course and meaningless as to warrant no further discussion... nothing of value is getting accomplished here.

However, in according with what I wrote earlier, the result of the moderator vote on lightgigantic's permanent ban will still be published in this thread either today or tomorrow.

There are a couple of outstanding peripheral issues that some members may still wish to discuss or debate. I guess that means new threads...

Regarding the site rules on sexual harassment, I have commented on them in an earlier post in this thread.
 
Administrator announcement

The moderator group has discussed the matter of lightgigantic's behaviour in the Rape: Redux thread.

By a narrow majority, we have decided that the permanent ban originally handed out to lightgigantic will remain in place.

This decision was justified in different ways by the moderators who voted for it, and I do not want to attempt to summarise the reasoning of others here. Those of you who have followed the discussion probably have a fair idea of what the relevant arguments were already.

This is the end of this matter. No correspondence will be entered into regarding lightgigantic's ban.
