Below is linked a Youtube excerpt (about 15 minutes) read from :
Economic Thought Before Adam Smith: An Austrian Perspective on the History of Economic Thought, Volume I"
By Murray N. Rothbard
The first Libertarian, one who felt conviction strong enough to challenge the State and record his ideas for all posterity was none other than 老子. Interestingly Lao Tzu and his later students - come to the exact same conclusions as other modern philosophers (MUCH later) - including that racist kook Dr Ron Paul. When I say 'exact' I mean identical conclusions. isn't that interesting? Across time and space, language and culture - we come to the same place.
Most Scientists, at least those open-minded enough to challenge their own beliefs, will stop to give such coincidences pause for thought. Particularly when the Philosopher in question founded one of the world's first and oldest schools of Philosophy.
