Laser Scanning for Inspection

Good afternoon, Sci Forum Legends,

I wanted to make a thread to talk about using laser scanning for inspection purposes and retro engineering. I am actually quite new at utilizing lasers and using software to inspect parts and am very curious if any of you fine folks out there utilize such technology in your current hobbies, careers, or interests. I have been fortunate to have multiple Faro arm systems at my disposal and an older LLP laser that I have been playing around with utilizing Cam2 software from Faro to try and learn more about this tool and perhaps others like it. I am aware of 3rd party software like polyworks and other metrology systems that are compatible with the tech at my disposal, however I wanted to specifically ask if any of you folks use Cam2 and would be interested in having a conversation about it? I am very new to this tool, and I often find learning is better when talking with folks that have deeper understandings and experience than that in which could be gleaned from solely using just manuals and videos that are often very unspecific to topics and features and work arounds other folks happen to know. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and for my fellow Christians may Easter be great for you and your families!

Thank you guys!
