It's over too soon

I'm no expert, just an interested spectator, but I'll try.

The order of play is to sink a red ball, then, and only then, you have to sink a color to set up your next shot at a red. If you don't have a good shot, the best idea is to hide the cue ball behind a color to prevent your opponent from making a shot.

This video really aptly illustrates a clusterfuck. The fact that they got out of the corner without the referee calling for a re-rack is just amazing, but those two are gods of the 12x6' green world.

Not snooker.

Thou shalt not suicide. Someone will miss you. Walk through the pain, remember the laughter and tears, and rejoice!

There are so many things I missed.

Woodstock by a year. Too young, and nobody knew about Wavy Gravy before it went down.

Vietnam by 43 days, plus six weeks of basic. They called off the draft that close to my number being up.

I never saw Hot Tuna live, either, but here's a gem if y'all like this sort of thing:

Here's a thing that bugs me, sort of..

In the Jayhawks song, "Everybody Knows", I hear one of the voices saying something different in the chorus.

Here's a repost of the video link:

Here are the lyrics according to genius.com:

[Verse 1]
Tell me now: If you came sneakin' up behind
Would you know me and see behind the smile?
I can change like colors on a wall
Hopin' no one else will find what lies beneath it all
I think I hide it all so well

[Chorus]
Steppin' out, everyone can see my face
All the things I can't erase from my life
Everybody knows
Standin' out so you won't forget my name
That's the way we play this game of life
Everybody knows

[Verse 2]
Lookin' through the crowd, I search for someone else
But every time I turn around I run into myself
Here I stand consumed by my surroundings
Just another day of everybody looking
I swore they'd never see me cry, never see me cry

[Chorus]
Steppin' out, everyone can see my face
All the things I can't erase in my life
Everybody knows
Standin' out so you won't forget my name
That's the way we play this game of life
Everybody knows

[Bridge]
You say I'll pay a price
That's a chance that I'll take
Though you may think I'm tellin' lies
I just call it "getting by"

[Chorus]
Steppin' out, everyone can see my face
All the things I can't erase in my life
Everybody knows
Standin' out so you won't forget my name
That's the way we play this game of life
Everybody knows
Everybody knows

[Outro]
Everybody knows
(I'm just barely getting by)
Everybody knows
(I'm just barely getting by)
Everybody knows
(I'm just barely getting by)
Everybody knows
I'm just barely getting by
Everybody knows
I'm just barely getting by
Everybody knows
Everybody knows

What I hear is debatable, because I have one damaged ear and a nearly twenty year old set of speakers, but I'd like some help here. Not in every chorus, and there are variations...

I hear one voice in the chorus singing the words, "Steppin' out, everyone can see my face", and another in the harmony singing, "Steppin' out, so no one can see my face", and I feel like it should be sung that way, with the contradictions in life, as everybody knows.

I'm probably nuts, reading too much into it, but so what?

Well, the road doesn't go on forever, and the party really does stop.

I'll share more when the time comes, but for a start, here's a couple of music videos that I like:

I was a cowboy junkie for a while. Really, I herded goats from horseback for a day, while I was being paid as a carpenter. Found all about saddle sores. Heroin doesn't help in the long run...

And this, that I shared with Bells:

This may be interesting for those facing the very real prospect of having less time ahead than they have time before them (regardless whether they are atheist, theist, abrahamic or abrahamic hater or anything in between)

(For the record, I don't know this guy and neither have I read his blog).

Thanks for that, but please get off your horse about "Abrahamic" this and that, man.

A short time might mean a shorter temper in the face of BS that has been heard repeatedly for the last sixty years.

I wish you well, and time is too short to crab and bitch over inconsequential stuff.

Apologies.
I was just trying to deconstruct the identity politics around here that make discussion a lot harder than what it needs to be.

Oh, thank you, fuckwit. Did you mean to say, "you're dumb as a rock", or am I unaware of some of the subtleties of English grammar?
