Hi, I was just wondering: even with bolean search queries I always tend to land on a commercial websites, and you?
I'm pretty fed-up : always being redirected by the socalled 'new and improved bots', not getting the info I requested for,...where is the eye who keeps an eye on the eye?

    here are some search-machines

What can be done in your opinion to turn this hazzardous stress factor: RHAAA! THIS IS NOT WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR!!! Into a searchmachine that really answers your queries and DOES get the answers your looking for instantly,........

It should be able to answer a simple question like for example:
    health risks with body painting
But no,...it's still to much to ask,...is it deliberate intend? What can WE do about it?

Getting? GETTING?? In my opinion, it’s been that way since the development of “web browsers.” However, in regards to your problem, I think you merely need to refine your searches. Using the advanced search option in Google, these were in the top 10 hits for “body painting” + “health risks” (two were hits for PDF files; I did not post these.) While I did not get much detail regarding exactly what you wanted, I did not hit a commercial page.

It does seem that searching for what you want on the web is becoming something of an art these days tho'.

I do find myself getting frustrated by stuff I don't want or that seems completely unrelated to the key words of my search, and don't even get me started on loops. What is the mentality of the people who design those things? A big fight on my screen and all I can do is wait for a victor or say feck it and reboot.

Unless of course....... you know different

Web is getting more comercial! and not for the search engines ( although I do not disclose them). I notice it mostly for all the services which previousle all had been free and no you have to pay for them. Even for the newest game rewievs @ pc.ign.com !
not to forget "free" web hosting, email, email forms and questbooks, free servers etc., etc.

But what d'ya expect?, n-thing is for free in this world.

You know it , I know it , hell we all know it's wrong,...It's a bloody cheap exuse to talk you out of it and it wil not work: saying nothings for free,...it just does not cope with standards that where created to be free,...

it's the same as asking to pay taxes because you where born, or that you breath air,...or even someone saying something to you: what are you going to say? Nothing to me because you can't afford it?

You bloody DO know that's wrong,....(don't believe that? you just wait a decade,...)
we all know the system is not working properly,....it is buzzy with restricting us, it's god¨*¨% not setting us free!!!! Not neccesary to deny it!
This thread is not intended to be subjected to thoughts like:
    -oh,...yeah wel,...I'm lame,....I aint gonne do somtin abou'tit,...
-oh poor you! can't you pay for everything ? poor you,...

listen man! If I tell u somthin : that's for free neh?
Now same situation : I TELL you something but now you're charged and obliged to PAY me,......
and you have no choice,....as to pay me,....what are you going to do? close your ears? don't you see where that leads?

Information should be accesible to every human being !!!
without paying on top of what he is already paying just to pay some more for every bloody godshitting site he/she wants to view!!! It stop's HERE !!!!!! here is where should be argued in a constructive manner how WE will change all this bulshitting around okay ? WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT

Hey, I know it's not fair nor right, but our worlfd and life is not either. Do you think I like finding tht another of my web service providers has switched to 6$ tax and tht the nanotechnology institute recquires a 30$ entrance fee. tht nature.com takes money for telling you about new discoveries. That my privacy is being tryed to steal every day, tht M$ tryes me to force to use their #$%^^&* MSM and .net passport! I'm frustrated and pissed off by this!, but what can I change? One person can't, but if all web-society riots, then smthing could change to the good or worst.

    I agree!!!

    Concider this

The price of this stuff is getting way to high. He's right is is just information that we should all have the ability to use for FREE.

But we cannot get it. In a deacde, there will be a little account where you pay like 2 cents to view a web site, and all the commerical crap will fall off the net, because no one will look at them.

    For a search engine tip:

    In Google.com
    if you type

    site:edu

then what you want to search ,you get website with only the postfix .edu

I think this will fork with .com and other

    yes !!!

Let's start this riot here and now today !!! Let it never bleed to death ,...we must put the power back to the people !!! we can for instance begin with defying what is 'legal' and what is not:
I must be able to share something with you guys,..for instance software,...how can enyone in the future: suppose your kids (example) grow into software,...if you can't afford it? you can't teach yourself in the trial period,...that's to short.

    The same with mp3,...ect,...(actual themes)
There must come an end to the financial exploitation !
The law is on the fly being devised only to support this exploitation !!!
The law itself is NOT righteous!!!
I Think we must start to unveil that curtain: the curtain that beholds the truth to this confinement that the industry takes to our homes and puts our future in jeopardy and lays our souls to waste !!!

I'm fed up !!! I can't take it anymore!!! who is with that statement!! I am !!! are you?

Hey, I'm totally with you. What we need is a large mass of people to call congress, change laws, we need programmers that will do things for almost free.

Plus i think that many people would donate to a fund for a free internet. Grannet many people wouln't out of the entire world, if everyone donated a doller, we would have 6 billion dollors.

It's possible, its just a matter of doing it.

    Ender, and all ...

Re. "we need programmers that will do things for almost free."

You mean like David Watanabe, AKA 'Porfiry', who has been gracious
enough to keep this forum going out of what I imagine to be a labor of
love? And, I imagine, out of his pocket at times.

Who's ready to toss five or ten dollars into the pot as a show of appreciation
for the effort he's made to keep Sciforums alive over the years?

    Take care

Everything is becoming too commercial these days, everything is about money. Everywhere you look there's advertising, every time I search for something I'm pounded with commercial sites of all sorts. A fair percentage of the pages out there have at least 2 popups, almost all sites have banners.

    Sigh...

Yes, but I think there's more neccesary,...

This is a thread about what happens when people are free to open up their goverments, their laws with their flaws, and fix what they don't like.
This is the beginning of liberty and the pursuit of an 'economical system' that doesn't crash into a blue screen of poverty and world destruction nor world domination.
This is a tale about the meaning of financial and spiritual freedom in a world where sharing power costs next to nothing.

It's obvious we'll have to build an air tight case,...and everytime you confront someone who say's:
It's been going on for ages, do you really think YOU can do something abouth it? You think you can do it better?
Is acctually saying something that vary's between the following statements:

-Don't try to resist,...I've been there, tried it and I failed,...

-No! I'm happy with the way this world works,...and I want It to stay that way!! And we will stop you!!

all over the world people are struggling to earn some money,...and respect. The Time has come to step up and bring it on,...these are not the sixties or seventies,....with their beautifull but naïve people,...no,...
Like then it became apparent that there must be done something, because complaining about it won't really have an changing effect,......now it's time again,...to do everything what is in our power!
I agree that we will need to convince more people: maby we can connect all these groups that already rival for some freedom and bind them together !!! We have begon this journey,...we might as well finish it!
I mean: halfway to mars you're not going to turn your spaceship around néh?
This is the future,....the future is now!

    Thx

You could probably search this in a Search engine (if you care to data mine the results), The internet was created as a mixture of Scientific instrument for sending data around the world and an "Early warning system".

Long since was the days of pure mathematics streaming out of TELEX/TELEFAX machines dedicated to univer(sity)al understanding.

It all changed after the BBS (bulletin Boards) The original Pioneers of ISP's in the form of Dial-up a number from the intro to you pirated disk, and download a bunch of games for the price of the phonecall.

The numbers would always change, but the commercial market saw that if it was possible to harness this, it could make a bundle of money....

The .COM was born (.COMmerce), you entered via an ISP (That didn't get busted for housing warez) and hunted around what was to be known the internet for what ever you could find.

At first the search engines that existed were easy to use and got you results, but it's changed from that day. As where they only had a few hundred servers and sites to cope with back then, they have millions now.

Millions of sites and most of them are FAKE WAREZ AND PORN sites that kick out a bunch of fake pages of "Keywords" just to get them higher listings through hits.

It was no longer a problem with just the Scanning of information on the part of the Robots that searched around the internet, but also on the part of these Rogue designers that were making money through semi-legal means.

No adays these rogues have moved into the "DATA MINING" realm, and use the Robots to hunt down E-mail addresses by following all external links to a site. So when you get a bunch of junk mail, you know how you got on their list.
(Even a robot could run through sciforums extracting e-mails if it was programmed too)

Now adays, everybody is all to ready to sell their grandmother off, just for some extra monetary readys. The blight of Capitalism hey....

You can't live with it, and you can't be a materialist without it.

    top listing of hits

I agree, the most keywords that are taken out of research are most certainly:
    -Sex
    -mp3
-and ...eehm... what was that third?

Is there in any way, a possibility that this can be regarded as an illigal practice? Or at least with common law can be defined as fraudulent abuse of trust and fooling the people around?

If so it would be fairly easy (nothing reaaally is but,...) to pass a bill trough congres (or any other autority on this matter) banning these practices by means of already existing laws?

If not : then how should it be defined: injustified use of keywords? Illigal practice of fraud?
-wich new laws will have to be devised by us (first hypothetically and afterwards for real aplication!)

We need more minds! The future is now!

, laws in US don't apply in other countries and vice versa. you'll have to establish a world goverment (one of my dreams to accomplish
