Is American society becoming more secular ?

Statistics show in the US that nearly half the population believe that Genesis is literally true. I believe that may be the figure for how many SAY that they believe that but deep down I highly doubt that even 10% believe it.
Polls can be thoroughly misleading if you ask me.

There is no shortage of atheists/agnostics in the world who count themselves as believers.

Totally agree. Most of those polled probably don't understand much about what Genesis says and never really thought about it. A whole subset of them probably can't read very well either....

What do they call religion? The opiate of the masses, keeping them under control. That's what it always was.
