The one I'm most proud of is when I worked as a temp for Prudential Home Mortgage, in the mail department. 1994 and I didn't give a fuck. They passed out a questionnaire, on employee's appreciation day. One of the questions was, what are your favorite activities? I wrote, "I like to drink to excess and play with guns.". They fired me the next day, and wouldn't even let me come in the next Saturday to pick up my sweater! My friend Dorsey still worked there for awhile, and he loved my prank. Of course, I loved to drink, but I never touched a gun in my life. Fuck Prudential! I went on to better things in the bovine cow serum industry, where I was fired again for being too efficient. Note: I experienced satori in the Prudential parking lot, on lunch hour, after having the honor of processing Arnold Schwarzenegger's mortgage.
 
I was fired by police in oxford in 1998. It was just a pretend job, it was just given to me for other reasons. They had no intention of given me a job, it was given to me for other reasons. I just walked out of there after 2 days and thought what a bunch of crackpots. No wonder freemasons whom the police alot are, are talked about in such fashions, lol

Police stations in uk should be called mental institutions.

I understand gov and police are needed, but man what these people have done to my life. No wonder like i said, freemasons, whom police mostly are if they are higher ranks, are talked about as such.

Like i said above i understand police and gov play an important role in society, but man they should be called mental institutions.
 
I always say that the door swings both ways when I enter a new job.

Sometimes what you think the job your going to have is one thing but once your in you find it much to your dislike and either get fired or leave.

Being fired is hard to do because those hiring you don't relish the thought of retraining people every 3 months or so. Turnarounds are not good for businesses but they still do it.

I've never been fired but have left due to various reasons like poorly maintained trucks I had to work out of, no insurances, or poor working conditions.
 
Never been "fired" but rather, "laid off." During one exit interview they asked me if I was going to sue the company. I was at a lost for words because I couldn't imagine what they thought they had done wrong. They did give me a fat separation check, however. I don't think it's worth investing a lot of hope into any job because it's never a guarantee that you'll have it tomorrow. You have to be flexible and prepared for the worst.

I worked for one company for 13 years and they just cut me loose one day. I didn't realize how poorly they had treated me until someone offered me a job that paid 50% more than what I had been making. There's always something better out on the horizon, so my loyalty is simply an honest days work, but I don't promise I wont leave when something better comes around. It's been my experience that most employers will do the same.

i know the feeling.
at one time i worked in a plastic injection molding shop, i was making nylon parts.
in trying to run as many parts as possible i accidentally caused the machine to go through 2 cycles before ejecting the parts.
i couldn't get the parts to come out so i called the supervisor.
the floor supervisor couldn't get the parts out and fired me.
 
I got laid off from my first job due to a reorganization. I was a warehouse worker/delivery-man for a small family owned sporting goods wholesaler. They had a couple of "roaming salesman" who spent most of their time traveling from customer to customer. They decided that they would rotate between working in the warehouse and out in the field and make deliveries while on their sales rounds. This meant that they took over my job.

I had a new job in a couple of months.

The last time, my employer decided to shift my whole department from in-house to out of house. I was in a large group that lost their jobs at the same time. Because I had been with them for 25 years, I got a considerable severance package.

I was re-employed in 6 wks, at a job with a much shorter commute (and just about the time gas prices started shooting up) and better benefits.
 
I may quit today, I may not. I work in this place I'm not thrilled with, pretty lame. Mostly everyone was fired or quit, I been there a few years but I really think I don't like them lol Of course the boss was fired a month ago but I was thankful, then alot of others...... I quit every job except the one for a company in california, they fired me but shortly after everyone in the dept got fired soooo I laughed lol

I will work on my resume this weekend and begin looking for jobs, this is falling apart around me though I appear safe my hours are stupid / bad.
 
i was fired when I was too worn-down to function any longer. I called in to work and said I could try half days of work, but I was offered two weeks vacation instead, which I knew wouldn't help much. So the human resources person said not to come in any more. I tend to be extremely nervous, and being in social interaction, especially formal, for any length of time is unbearable.
