HISTORIANS are planning to unveil research to prove the ancestors of American President George W Bush came from Chorley in Lancashire.
The St Laurence parish church's historical society has spent over a year collecting evidence to show President Bush's ancestor Myles Standish - one of the first English settlers to sail to America aboard the Mayflower in 1620 - hails from Duxbury in Chorley.

DETECTIVES investigating the discovery of human bones found near Chorley now say the victim was murdered.

He also revealed that the victim was more than likely of Asian origin and appearance and issued a picture of what the man probably looked like. The computer-generated image of the man's distinctive face has been prepared by experts from Glasgow University's Human Identification Unit.
