I see evil people, not dead

I was looking at this abandoned building video and there was a beautiful antique grand piano that was purposely sprayed with paint and graffiti like a way of degrading and mocking it. What disgusting evil or lame intent is inspired in people. The disrespect of the people who had lives and children there who had fallen on hard times and had to abandon such a nice home. Some people see dead people or so they say. I see evil people most everywhere and they aren't even considered evil. Most people are nauseatingly annoying to put up with or deal with and they have many vices or character faults etc. Then you just realize they are like filthy bacteria that grew larger through predation, deception, greed etc through evolution and can now walk and speak. Just disgusting organic life but not necessarily inherently different. Graffiti is just one example of the joy of trashing things or others or what they percieve as sacred or cared about etc.

I see evidence of this unceasing trash and disgusting quality of degeneracy and degradation in humans and especially it never ends or gets better. It's inherent in nature. The older i get, the more colder and less compassionate i feel toward people as i see they are not worth much nor are they better than animals either. Humans are rather horrible creatures and lame, petty, greedy etc but believe they are better which makes it even more offensive etc.

When I was looking at this video, what struck me wasn't the building as much as the self-centered and entitled graffiti that was screaming for attention. The seemingly innocuous and innocent heart shapes and 'i was here' or 'i love so and so or 'fuck you' etc etc yet it infuriated me in that it wasn't and isn't innocent but cruel and disrespectful toward your environment just because they don't own it. I see this narcissism as preferred in nature and when the reset button is pushed, it always favors the lowest common denominator of trash, degeneracy, unsophistication, lack of taste/class etc. The juxtaposition of the ornate mansion with the simple trashiness of the graffiti, you notice it's always the latter type that nature always loves and trumps the most and is why today is the loss of true artistry in favor of technical innovation coupled with the hilariously or horrendously pathetic low level of sophistication of taste which are the target demographic and leaders of today. There is not only no hope for this planet but this universe. It's garbage and a dead-end struggle that will always end up like this in the end metaphorically and literally with the vultures or the lesser or just blatantly undeserving screwing up or marring what could have been better but nature never allows it because of it's constant thorns in the process.

I don't like people either. The older I get the less I like them. I don't even like myself half the time. (I know, you don't like me either. So, see if I care. :p)

An abandoned piano is trash. Graffiti is art. Turning trash into art is not evil. In fact, it's good. Sure, most graffiti is done without skill or beauty, but at least it's an attempt at human expression.

Right, because it makes so much sense that when you see an abandoned grand piano which might be reclaimed, your natural urge is to spray paint it or just fuck with it in general, just for it's own sake? Hmm. I don't compute that. Besides, that's the problem. what some people consider art which is trash. i don't consider spray painting 'fuck', 'pussy', 'we will take over the world' etc etc and most graffiti art. it may technically be art but it's low level which is worse than none since its not even necessary. this was not art as it was just vandalism of a property. it makes you wonder why people want to vandalize for no reason whatsoever. attempts at any human expression is not some type of inherent virtue by itself and deserves some gold star, praise or pat on the back.

These are people who aren't thinking that much. These are people who see an unpainted surface, think "I have some paint left in my spraycan" and spray away. No thoughts about "wow, that's a grand piano!" To them, it's just a blank piece of wood.

Grand pianos aren't precious. I know they seem fancy, but people don't play pianos anymore, and you can get them cheaply anywhere, often for the taking, since they are hard to move. Also, spray paint doesn't ruin wood, in fact it could preserve it against water.

Abandoned property can't be vandalized. You can't trash trash.

Ever tried it? It's cathartic. And in this case, no one was harmed. Except your feelings, for no good reason.

They're not that hard to move. And while I have no doubt that such people as you know don't play them, others do - the question becomes: how much respect do you have for those other people? The spray can "artists" of juvenile swears? Not much.

That said, teenagers incline to sociopathy by nature and norm - "kids did it" works better than "the world of humanity is evil and ugly".

We were occasionally pretty bad teenagers. Our favorite "game" was mailbox baseball, at least until one guy swung from the back seat, missed the mailbox, and hit the guy who was sitting in the front passenger seat. Luckily not hurt bad. Another time I hit the mailbox and we were going slow enough and the mailbox was small and loose enough that I pulled the shot and the mailbox hit the side of my friend's car. He was pissed.

My neighborhood was lower-middle-class -- no grand pianos lying about. Not even cheap pianos lying around.

I studied classical piano for 7 years.
A little paint in an abandoned house doesn't mean anything, get a sense of perspective. It's not like they are drawing swastikas. In fact, some of the messages are quite positive. "Find what you love" says one of them. The true evil thing is probably the bank that foreclosed on these people.

No, i think it's telling how insane it is that you are lamely condoning and defending this behavior for 'no good reason'. No, i don't find it cathartic to graffiti or vandalize others property or because it's abandoned and owned by a bank etc. nor do i think it cool to marr a piano because you assume people don't want it or don't care anymore. if i had your address, i would encourage others to express themselves on your property as art. your reasoning is called full of shit! and would make a shitty parent with your rationalizing anything!

Those inclinations don't just disappear, so it is a humanity of evil. those inclinations just get channeled in different ways of sociopathy.

No, . . . <ranting> . . .
Jeez! You're going to blow a gasket.

It might have happened during the recent housing market collapse, which was characterized by evil and predatory lending and foreclosure practices.
There was plenty of blame to go around in the last housing collapse - including predatory lending practices.

This type of behavior indicates to me how people vandalize whenever they can get away with it, metaphorically or literally. This is why we have pollution problems or the ridiculous litter even if a trash can is a few feet away etc. this is why we have greed, overconsumption, overproduction, waste etc because it's all rooted in narcissism and sociopathy. And it ain't all kids doing it either, adults do it just the same but bigger.

Pollution comes from greedy industrialists and their anti-environmental enablers in Washington. Kids need places to go wild a little bit. Before spray paint they would carve their names in trees.

On second thought, they should not tear the building down. They should make it a landmark for historical posterity for the 21st century. i suppose graffiti is like the cave paintings of yesterday, which was still more sophisticated. In the very distant future, some archeologists (who may not even speak english) will try to decipher it like the egyptian heiroglyphs and be in awe of how evolved/progressed we have become as a species and/or culture or may think it was the pathetic dark ages. who knows.

Hanlon's Razor - Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
