Human origins

This was in the land of béisbol. A cricket bat would pack more of a wallop, I'd guess. They look heavy.

This was Oregon, where it seemed to us there was more of the dramatic acting out of emotions by essentially harmless people. We had an old guy in a town just south of us who would get depressed a couple times a month or so, strip naked and lie down on Main St. declaring that he wanted to die. The police had assigned one cruiser to him, they always had a bathrobe his size, would show up and gently pick him up, robe him, and take him to the drunk tank. No one took it seriously and I gather it was seen mostly as street theater.
There was a story in the papers some years ago of a burglar who tried to burgle a family of Pakistani ancestry including two young men who played a lot of cricket. The guy got chased down the street with a cricket bat and was hospitalised. They are not that heavy, but certainly heavier than a baseball bat.

The birthing pangs of intelligence could not have been an easy transition, whether our genetic code is celestial (which it is) or solely terrestrial (which it isn't). The smart guy got the girl until the big guy beat him up and got the girl hooked on cocaine. That's life and although life is sometimes difficult, it may one day, in the far far future, be worth our sacrifices as we move towards a better more informed society. Yeah, I actually believe that. . Until then, I'll playing dumb, the big guy can pick on the geeks, and the girls can choose cocaine over intelligence..

Ohh, I am sooo going fishing instead.

Marijuana psychosis?

Can you give me a specific? If evidence of life was found on the moon, Mars or anywhere else I would have heard about it.
That's hardly the point, and while I understand that we came up in a terrestrial environment, we did not come solely from that terestial fragment of a rock we apes like to call the earth. That was my original point. We have celestial origins. Our origins are not solely terestial.

We don't have evidence for that one way or the other. It's true there are some interesting and surprisingly complex organic molecules to be found in some meteorites, including precursors of the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic bases used by RNA and DNA, but we don't know whether or not that's where proto-life got them from.

That's hardly the point,
That is precisely the point.

Is there life on Mars? The answer today stands as "no."
Was there life on Mars? That is a possibility but nothing definitive as yet, despite years of probes, rovers and samples.
Is there life elsewhere in the universe?
Plenty of building blocks and precursors but again nothing definitive.

Apparently, from gaseous nebulas came disks made of dust particles that grew in size over time, after which these "Planetesimals" continued to collide becoming larger planets like the earth. From there the materials needed for the evolution of life began from that which was present from the planets formation and celestial origins.
