I take the lion's share of the blame.Basically, I blame sciforums. Damn you all!
"Astronaut eyes" said my former optometrist. My distance vision is very good. Reading glasses though, for up close. I spend a lot of time doing things wearing an Optivisor, using a magnifier and a microscope.
Um...I took an online eye test
I use 1.75 readin glasses from 26 inches away to view my 15" chromebook... an 1.25 when im lookin over my wifes shoulder to view the computer screen.!!!
Yeah it coud be... an after 26" text begins to blur... an closer than 10" text starts to blur.!!!Wait--reading glasses to view something at 26 inches? That sounds like something for which corrective lenses for myopia would be suited, not magnifiers.

I do fine usin the 1$ readin glasses when needed but i may need perscription glasses one of these days.!!!
before u look at the sign get ready to close one eye and look directly at only 1 character in the street sign.(just a glance to focus intently for half a second[try slightly shorter time])but makes reading street signs a nightmare.
visual processing typeDon't know why this is the case--epilepsy? Hyperactivity? Who knows?
visual processing type
i have been slowly reading aroound the edges of this type of cognitive processing for some years.
i suspect there is a relation to varying things(that contribute to the function positively & negatively)
hydration(water & salts etc electrolytes etc)
vitamin levels(excesses and imbalances and deficiencies)
rest levels due to fatigue or over excitement for the neural pathways and relative processing levels of the data.
