i dunno what to think about school. i like it.... sort of, but at the same time... i dont... what am i SUPPOSED to think? like, if i were the perfect daughter... according to my mother, i'd of course have streight A's, but i know some adults who have gone through something similar to what i have (the whole, one parent, cancer thing..) and they say something completely different. like, i do sports, i get A's, B's and C's, no D's or F's. and I'm involved in the school newspaper. but still (dont know how i do it) im considered out of control. funny thing is, i dont go out (often) and when i do, i dont drink or do drugs. whats the deal? i even do what mother dear asks. with out (too much) complaining.

Adults, am i missing something?

Teens, are your parents like this too?
 
Maybe thats the reason, you need to break your parents in. I know thats how I survived highschool. Drinking and drugs kept me sane, to a certain extent. it allowed me to rebel in a way that was not highly illegal, highly dangerous, or highly destructive. its not like I didnt rebel in those ways, I sure as hell did, but as a freshmen in college, I learned more from rebeling in highschool than actual school, it prepared me by giving the social and survival skils necessary for life. So pretty much, all I'm saying is go have fun

Now that I'm an adult. At age 32 I wish I was in high school again because life as an adult is hard and complicated. i wish i could rewind the hands of time and do it all over again.( ofcoures with the knowledge I have now)
i could go into more detail but i dont want to depress u. wanna trade places?

You are young and you should try and do what your parents ask you to do for they , for the most part, are trying to help you, You , on the other hand, have to decide what you should do for yourself and make good decissions based upon what your parents tell you and what you think is what you'd want to do. Your parents are the ones who love you and want you to do as good as possible and they are there for your guidance not to lead you down the path they want you to go but the path you choose with their assistance.

Listen to you parents, for they are and will be your only true friends that will love you no matter what you eventually end up doing. School is very important and grades are also important IF you are going to college. Education will make you a better life and bring you more money in better jobs if you will pay attention in school. Sometimes your friends just want to goof off rather than study and that's not very smart if you want to amount to anything in life.

Drugs and alcohol don't need to be taken at all and don't let anyone convince you otherwise. If yop start taking them you could end up in a bigger problem then you'd ever imagine. Drugs and alcohol are great IF you can handle them but how do you know that you can? Try staying alive and sober the life you save could be your own.

Ok so I am not the average teenager who goes out drinking or partying over the weekend...in fact I have never done that. I just dont see the point and I am not being a party basher or anything but i have fun with my friends doing legal stuff and just hanging out. Now i know I am not the only teen who doesnt drink or smoke so what do some of you do on the weekends with your friends. and mainly what can I do on New Year's Eve that doesnt involve drinking but I can go out with my friends and meet new people without alcohol or drugs involved

Why not go out and have a great time with them but just not take anything just because they do. If they are a true friend they will RESPECT your feelings and not try to convince you to drink or do drugs. Everyone has the right to choose what they want to do in life and anyone who tells you that your wrong wouldn't be much of a friend and I would drop them like a lead ballon!

Having fun doesn't mean that you must take anything to get high for you know that you can have fun without altering your brain functions. Imagine that your friends all get high, who will be able to drive you home? If your willing to risk your life with people that don't respect their own bodies then you too are just as wrong as they are in doing so. Always do what YOU think is right no matter how bad the others may want you to look, they aren't your friends.

Yeah, and all these kids near my age (I'm 17) want to be adult. I think I'm too old already :\
 
my friends arent drinking or smoking or doing any of those things and thats why we are friends...we all tend to befriend people who are like us.
so what are some fun things to do that dont involve drinking or smoking where we can meet new people?

hey cosmic when im high i wait tell the stop sign turns green ... ;) ... anyway i end up going really slow when high cuz it seems to go so fast ... opposite for being drunk ... i end up going through stop signs like i dont give a fuck ... but i rarely drive when drunk now ... ive seen some ppl that got f***ed up while dui ....

anyway your parents will always love you and say stuff to you about your not doing the best ... they will always do that ... even if you make straight a's they will push you to make 100% in all your classes ... that happened to me in 5th grade ... im a senior now and on drugs and still doing well in school a's and b's ... but i started doing drugs because my parents drove me crazy ... i was about ready to take out my pistol and shoot them one day ... i would cus and scream at them and all sorts of shit ... this was in about 8th grade in middle school ... eventually my parents left me alone and realized they were only starting problems with me ... but in 10th grade they started cutting me off ... i got caught looking at porno and they took out the cable and then took away my computer ... i got really mad ... i had just come home and my dad looked at the history on the family computer ... not my personal one ... well im getting started on a whole story ... okay story short

right now my parents leave me alone ... they almost dont talk to me ...

i dont know how it happeded ... my parents are clueless about me going to parties and smoking and drinking ... my mom does my laundry sometimes and she smells smoke "weed" and shes like does school smell that bad when your there ... im like yes mom it does ... i g2g now

even funnier is im growing stuff in my room and my mom and dad are clueless ... i said im doing a chemistry project on the formation of varies root types through the diffrence between hydroponics and ayroponics and all this bs ... i made it sound all technical ... my dad even bought some hps lights 4 me ... but yep hehe .... i think my parents are dumbasses and i dont know how i got somewhat smart ... somewhat describes that doing drugs was a bad choice because thats all i saw for an end to my pain and suffering ... i have no good advice because i used this way ... and my parents are stupid

but if you can handle the drugs and use them when u need to and not form a habbit i would suggest you go smoke a blunt right away ... hide it from your parents ... if you stroll in your house high and just keep on doing it life will be so much easier ... but dont plan on getting a job unless you have friends that are drug-free so u can pass the drug tests

well if your under 140 give me a holla ... i wont force drugs or sex on you ...

but yea if you got a brain then figure out what u have to do to make life happier .... if it requires having sex "rebeling" doing drugs ... making straight a's .... or running away ... whatever works in your situation ....

Yup, have fun and seek the company of people that seem to be able to "moderate" their drinks/drugs, there's a thin line between "having fun" and going south.

From school I remember the occaisional parties at friends houses and there was a good amount of pot/alcohol and babes going around, but it was some weekends only and did'nt get really in the way of passing critical school exams.

Later However, when the internet jobs were still booming, with my big mouth but mediocre intelligence i was able to get me a job as system administrator for a ISP, wich was in hindsight a bit above my head, working very hard, much stress, good money, but the job really exhausting, my collegue was a real partyanimal, he introduced me to the afterparty circuit we used to "unstress" in the weekends on a cocktail of mdma/ghb/sleezy girls, needless to say this was "fun" for a while but we started to go clubbing midweeks also, even selling the stuff, many bad things started happening.....

Glad I have put that past me , things are much more moderate now, working in a less stressfull office environment and stick to a joint and some wine in the weekends, might pop a pill or two on some outdoor festivals in the summer but that's it.
