I have periods during the day when my innards are extremely talkative. Sometimes they tell me they are hungry, other times they are just busy digesting. It's been noisy as of late. The only modification to my diet is a daily consumption of yogurt, which I have taken a liking. Also, I've been farting like a blow horn lately, yet I'm not stinky.

Does yogurt change your internal chemistry? I remember when I started eating apples every day, and the mayhem they waged on my system, so I'm thinking the yogurt might be the culprit now.

Yes the bacteria in yoghourt can change the composition of your gut microflora. Generally this is considered beneficial. More here: https://academic.oup.com/ajcn/article/80/2/245/4690304

Plenty of odourless farting may simply mean your bowel function is improved and you will be less liable to constipation. I expect it will settle down a bit if you carry on. These things have a way of finding their own equilibrium.

The extra gas will probably decrease over time. meanwhile, you can take one of the OTC remedies. Or, if this interferes with your work/social life, pay attention to the pattern of how long after a helping of yogurt the gas starts erupting, and time your intake accordingly. Near bedtime would be optimal for most people: yogurt is easy on the stomach and low in calories, so makes a good late evening snack. By morning, the unwanted effects should be gone.

Do you eat yogurt with fruit or just plain yogurt? The fruit you eat with the yogurt, if you eat it, may also be contributing to your farting.

The key word is equilibrium. A change in diet is likely to have secondary effects and they will most likely diminish with time IF the new diet is reasonably stable. Go on a new fad diet every month and your body never gets a chance to reach equilibrium.

Yup. When I eat yoghurt (with fruit) for brekkies or lunch, my podmates pay the price.

I have been eating fruit and yogurt everyday in between meals for about a year or so now and my body has adjusted since then. I am far less flatulent now than I was when I first started eating fruit and yogurt regularly.
