i've installed google earth.
what kinds of cool stuff can i do with it?

i've already checked out my house.

the imagery over NZ is pretty poor. i suppose it would be handy if you lived in europe though.

Find, and tag all the hotels you've ever stayed at. I pretty much found all of mine, except 3 or 4 from when I was too young to remember.

Absolutely eff all, in other words. Congratulations, you've just spent 30 minutes installing a piece of junk, just so you could look at your house - something that you could have achieved in five seconds flat if you'd had the sense to step outside.

Excep the can't look at it from ABOVE.

Here is what you can do Leopold. Grab the Earth and spin it. Depending on the spin you can fly over areas with different speeed, it is like a flightsimulator.

I found the smog shown on it interesting.

As I suspected most of the stuff we get in southern Ontario is from DETROIT, ohio, and other steelhouse shitholes.

OMG England is a dirty looking place, how can you breathe there? I could make out the crop circles in the country though, neeatoooo

Position your sights over washington D.C(white house is most interesting), all kinds of shapes U.S freemason forefathers designed with the streets.

hes probably just talking about circular patterns on the ground. most likely created by pivot irrigation.

How some famous places and cities cannot be zoomed in more than just dim contoures?

I can zoom in my house pretty neat, although I live out of the 'Roman roads'.

I live on the edge of a state forest that goes on for a round 50km. I love going for bush walks and found google earth an invaluable tool for locating tracks and interesting features, something no map I could ever find could give me.

Check out the Grand Canyon, the Sphinx and the pyramids of Giza. Those are kinda neat. Also check out the Hoover Dam. Then zoom in on the Hoover dam, so you can see the cars clearly, and then tilt the map so you can almost see the horizon, so you're not looking directly down, but at an angle. It's pretty funny how Google Earth deals with altitude differences.

Now that I live in a far flung land I like to take a virtual trip down memory lane through the streets and places I trod as a young man once in awhile. Just discovered that my mothers next door neighbor has uploaded pics of the street she lives on and the park beside it.

Is it much better resolution and zoom that maps.google.com?
in las vegas and seattle you can see people.

there are still alot of places that suck when it comes to resolution. the 2 i mentioned are the only ones i know of with really good zoom.

Cool.
I think I'm going to check it out.
Thanks.
