The Bible took the story of the flood from Gilgamesh

[Laughs] Pre-medicine? You mean prior to John D Rockefeller son of the first snake oil salesman and his synthetic, toxic, petroleum based elixers.

You know, I hate to tell you this, but people in the future are going to laugh at your science of today like you laugh at the same of the past.
And we've been laughing at people like you since fire was discovered. You have some catching up to do.

We discovered it, Popeye. We were boiling water long before your stupid ass science figured out how we did it. The Bible said the earth was a spherical globe floating in space when you thought it was resting on the back of a giant turtle, we knew what caused day and night when you thought it was miasmas coming from the sky or ground, we knew about the hydrologic cycle before you had a clue - you've only recently figured out babies feel pain. You should have paid more attention to the hygienic laws of the Bible, you wouldn't have killed Ignaz Semmelweis for suggesting the germ theory when you believed - with your pathetic and petty arrogance - in miasmas, going from the morgue to the birthing table without washing your fucking hands.

Your science is a joke. Wake up.

I'm the idiot? How many of the nearly 80 vaccines on the schedule for children have been tested? Not just for efficacy, because they would obviously fail, but for what diseases from the animal cell line are present when they shoot them in the arms of children, not to mention an infant would have to weigh 2,000 pounds to safely tolerate the mercury, lead, aluminum and who knows what else that preserves them. Now run to your Google. It will tell you only what you want to know because it is heavily invested in - guess what? And you can trust your government agencies like the CDC.

You guys got this. Your science has poisoned our air, land, food, seeds, water, medicine, children and minds. Good job. It wasn't an accident.

You know why? You don't want to believe.
No, I have posted several times on this. I went to looking to confirm my faith, I wanted it to be true.

The heavens include the sun and moon. Did you know that?
What lights govern night and day?

periods of indeterminate time, not literal 24 hours
No, it actually states an "Evening and morning of the first day." The days actually begin at night as per Jewish tradition.

The firmament, this is not how you described it. The ancient Israelites thought there was water around the world above and beneath. The firmament keeps this water out.

Besides the Epic of Gilgamesh which predates the Bible there is also the "Story of Atrahasis," tablets found with the story on were dated to the beginning of the 17th C BCE.
This predates the Bible/ Genesis accounts by centuries.

See also Enuma Elish, known to have been performed in Babylon written in the 12th C BCE, predating the Bible again by centuries.

All have striking similarities to P and J in Genesis but could not have used those as a source.

So spheres have "corners?"

So, the expression I'm going to search the four corners of earth means I think the earth is square? And the expression the sun rises and sets, is literal? The foundation of marriage? In desperation the "skeptic" is the ultimate Biblical literalist.

Ok, so you just have to work out what is metaphor and which is reality right?
Since there is zero geology, Palaeontology or Biology to support a Biblical flood and all evidence points to the story coming from previous myths, the sensible thing to do is place that story in the metaphor/ myth category.
You agree?

The sun rises from the east and sets in the west. Sorry if that confuses you. Like every damn thing else on the planet.
