Ghosting a drive

Greetings all,

A quick question. If I ghost my existing hard drive to a larger one, will it recognize the new drive's size?

I went to backup my C: drive to my D: drive (both on the same drive, partitioned) and I had to resize the partitions. About halfway through my computer discovered that my hard drive was not large enough to finish the resize so now my backup (D: drive) is unreadable.

My C: drive is so tweaked and customized that I can't afford to go back to factory install.

Any info or other options would be greatly appreciated.

ghost will detect the partision is larger and ask if you wish to resize.
but ghost can fail, so you better back up some of the crap you really like to save.

it sounds wierd that you resize failed halfway true(assuming you use something like partision magic)

You will eventually (knowing the reliability of M$ software) need to backup anyway.



Ghosting won't work with Windows XP by the way. Due to new "safety" measures by your favorite company.

You could just get partition magic, it will allow you to alter the size of your existing drive without having to reinstall or necessarily back it up.
