Geordief is gorgeous!

In Olga's Free Thoughts thread, I am using Chrome's Translate feature to translate all posts on the page from Russian to English.

It seems to have decided that geordief is Russian and is helpfully translating his name to Georgeous.:D

At first, I didn't know it was him; I thought it was some new user weighing in. It wasn't until I tried to quote this new user that I even suspected something was wrong. And even then I thought it was a bug, mixing up two users:

I wonder if any other usernames might trip up Chrome's translate feature.

FFS, it's in the dropdown menu in Chrome, those three dots top right. And it works.

Test:

thevat
geordief

Test 2:

to shade

(whoa! I typed in thevat in Cyrillic, and it turned it into "to shade")(so it works on Cyrillic, but not a Russian word already transliterated to Roman)

I'm using MS Edge (mostly because I like the vertical browser tabs).

To translate, I just hit CTRL-A to highlight everything on the page, then right-click on the text and select "Translate selection to English". It detects the language just fine, translating the Russian posts while leaving the English ones as they are.

It leaves "geordief" and "TheVat"alone, and if I try to "translate" those words individually, it tells me it can't translate!

It must have some heuristics for taking a best guess at the language to be translated.
