I would never have believed it had I not seen it. There are numerous theories regarding the intentions behind the activity: government sysops to community policing. YouTube is filled with videos on the subject. The best description I've heard is when one gentleman likened it to a public lynching. :)
 
This is very vague, for those of us who have never heard the term.

What exactly is 'gang stalking' and who is doing it?

While I am tempted to just Google for results, the nature of this subject is very likely to end up appearing very different to me than it does to you. Better if you provide your own examples.

I suggest searching it on YouTube. There are more videos on the topic than I could ever put into words. Enjoy.

That would be a crap shoot. I wouldn't get your take on it. After all, you started the discussion. I'm simply asking what you are discussing.

I think watching any of those videos would give you a very good idea about gang stalking. I never knew what it was until recently. Watch a few of the videos and see what it does to people. You can't mistake the vibe.

Straw men are too easy to inadvertently create; I'm not about to willingly create one by choosing some random article that may or may not be what you are talking about.

You made me google it. It's a situation where mentally ill people share and reinforce each other's paranoid delusions of stalking. Surely there is probably more actual surveillance of the people US than most people are aware of, but that's a separate issue.

Who knows for certain why and who? It is a fascinating phenomena. If you watch the videos on YouTube, there are explanations that stretch every imaginable culprit. Political, social, sexual preference: none of that seems to be a motivation. It's a curiosity, for sure.

To have one or two people stalking you would be bad in itself. Can you imagine having an army of people stalking you?

YouTube is probably the best source of info available. It's a good mix of people and their experiences.

The most parsimonious explanation is probably the best one. Mental illness is common and creates the same paranoia. Also it's unreasonable for a whole team complete with aircraft to be observing these nobodies. It's so obviously not a real thing.

But what is fascinating about it? That he government is supposedly doing something? Or that some loonies think the government is doing something?

There are explanations for the JFK assassination too - from Castro did it to J. Edgar Hoover did it to Santa Claus did it. All pretty much worthless.

Well, that's the thing. People get so wrapped up in what is going on that they start creating stories to explain it. If you are constantly the target of an overt operation, your level of anxiety will be through the roof.

No, the anxiety comes first, and they look to justify it using observer bias.
