Favorite movie lines

"So he hid it in the one place he knew he could hide somethin'............ His ass. Five long years, he wore this watch .....up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch.
I hid this uncomfortable hunk of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you."

[on the phone] What is the condition of Sergeant Kruger? ... Very well, let me know if there is any change in his condition. [Hangs up] He's dead.

"When the Jews return to Zion
And a comet rips the sky
The holy Roman empire rises
Then you and I must die

From the eternal sea he rises
Creating armies on either shore
Turning man against his brother
Till man exists more."

Holy shit that's Trump! Comet, Church, conflict, politics......arrggghhh.

The end is nigh!

Turnip checks so many Antichrist boxes that I keep expecting to hear reports that a hairdresser spottted a 666 under his comb-over.

Great movie, though I was not happy to see Lee Remick dropped onto fence spikes. She just sizzled in The Long Hot Summer.

She actually fell from a balcony at the Thorn mansion while the devil child watched.
She survived that but then Mrs Baylock threw her out of the hospital window from several floors up.
She crashed through an ambulance and that impact did the trick.

Argh, yes, now I recall it. What I did was conflate Robert getting caught on a fence spike at the cemetery and Katherine falling on the ambulance. Been so long since I saw that. Mrs Baylock and also the various Rottweilers were quite scary, though it was the reveal with the jackal carcass in the grave, etc. that really sent the chills. I know they did a remake, but I cannot imagine it approaching the original.

Broadsword calling Danny Boy. Broadsword calling Danny Boy. Over.

I am not breaking radio silence just cos' you lot got spooked by a dead flying fucking cow.

There is Omen 2 which is at the very least as good as the first film. Watching it recently I thought it even surpassed it.
The remake of the original 1976 Omen was also very good.

Just saw the first, but I remember there were several, one with a pubescent Damien and then an adult. The last two, III and IV got panned, iirc - IV was just a tv movie on Faux. I will try II. Might have a theatrical revival, repackaged as "Young Donald, the NYMA Years."
