Experts Say Nanotechnology May Be a Threat

Well the nano particles are all made from naturally found resources so that would mean we already ingest those same things daily already , even in much larger quantities. So I really don't think something like them are going to matter much when humans are already overexposed to all sorts of shit that humans make.

Being natural is not enough. There are lots of natural poisons, and they aren't good for you.

Depends on the nono-particles and the molecular composition. If it works like asbestos...then you are screwed, but gold or silver nanoparticles may not do any damage as Indians have been eating them for years.

Size matters.
Some things aren't as big a deal when they're big.

If silver particles gain anti-microbial properties when they're very small, it stands to reason that other substances may also gain unforeseen, and potentially dangerous, properties.

You mean like killing or making your blood cells inert so that they can not carry Oxygen? That is very possible....

We already have mecury contamination of fish everywhere. We have lead in many things including the air we breathe.

"A new academic study led by UCLA researchers has revealed that the smallest particles from vehicle emissions may be the most damaging components of air pollution in triggering plaque buildup in the arteries, which can lead to heart attack and stroke.

It appears that the smallest air pollutant particles, which are the most abundant in an urban environment, are the most toxic," said first author Dr. Jesus Araujo, assistant professor of medicine and director of environmental cardiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA"

It depends on the particle that is coming out. Just shoot that is carbon particles may not cause serious damage (humans have been breathing that since the advent of fire). But metal oxides and other complex compounds can and do cause that health problem.

I don't understand one thing - what man made ultradisperse particles (which have been around for 50-60 years have to do with "nanotechnology"? As for today, there is NO, NONE, ZERO of any laboratory signs of nanotechnology (as envisioned by pioneer grant eaters). Ultra disperse particles do nasty things to your health, that's true. Powder metallurgy works with micron sized powders, nevetherless, it's not the healthiest occupation. Rare machinist live to see 65, all those chemicals and powders penetrating skin do them in.
