Evolution [Debate Proposal]

I think you're right - he seems to have stopped trying to argue and now it's just abuse.

Lol. You being a lawyer should remember what you said. It was YOU who tried to assassinate my character, but failed miserably. And I have irrefutable evidence to support my claim.

Muslim you seem to assume that anyone who says things you don't understand must be an idiot. Sounds a bit like transference.

OK. Let's have it then.

Can we do a quick roll call? Is anyone missing?

I'm concerned Muslim has ducked out for a quick Jihad.

I love the debating technique Muslim uses in his second post:

Muslim said:
Micro evolution fails to explain the existence of various biological elements that had to be whole as incremental steps cannot have produced the form they are in. So it would be a waste of time even debating on this issue.

Translation: I've read about Irreducible Complexity (IC) - but don't know enough about it to want to argue it - so I'll just say that IC is a winner and hope no-one notices!

:D

Genius.

No he doesn't. if he did then he would have known, I could do Jihad without even leaving my seat. I wouldn't need to go "out side" to do Jihad.

OK can you explain, where the original microorganisms came from? how did it all start? Its pointless. It had to appear fully formed in the first place.

Why? Because you can't believe it didn't? Or merely because you don't know how?

And evolution is not concerned with abiogenesis - which is to do with the formation of first life.

The theory of Evolution of life is the process by which that first life-form gave rise to us, and to all other life-forms on the planet.

So you need to start with the first life-form and move from there.

If you want to discuss abiogenesis then feel free - but it is not the same as, or really much to do with, evolution.

Appear? Fully formed? Sounds like creationism to me...

Will you get a clue am not a creationist. I don't even want to debate on the issue of god or what not. Am saying well lets look at evolution if you want to talk about microorganisms then you have to show how the first particle cell was 'created' you can't pick up for the part you like, you have to start from the beginning. I mean when go to sleep do you jump from the first step to the top one? no that would be impossible, you have to take it from the first step.

Well do you know? how about you share that revaluation with all of us oh wise man? :bugeye:

Well, I'm glad to see this debate didn't degenerate into wild bickering. That would have been just silly. Quite uncharacteristic of sciforums. =D

Seriously, though: muslim, source your bloody material (because otherwise you've completely sodded your argument from the get-go), have a proper debate here (and you should probably go first since you called for it) and, first, decide whether it's the origin of life or evolution you'd prefer to get hamm - I mean, debate.

You've seriously missed the point. This PI, dude has not even showed up. His is a loser.

I am actually willing to challenge anyone from Sciforums to debate me on evolution, and when I say evolution I mean everything origin of life ect, ect.

Ad Hominem. Not good for someone trying formal debating.

And no - I have no idea about abiogenesis.
I have never claimed to.
But I do not jump to unsubstantiated conclusions. To do so would be another logical fallacy (the many types and natures of which you would probably do well to become versed in!).

And please, please, please understand that the ORIGIN of life is not a matter for EVOLUTION.

You are debating EVOLUTION!

If you want to bring in Red Herrings then feel free - but they will be ignored and they are, as you might have guessed, a logical fallacy.

So let me get this right, if someone claims to be an expert in microorganisms, and I ask him a relatively simple question such as can you explain to me how the first cell ever was formed and that would mean what? that we ain't debating evolution anymore? its still part of evolution.

your arguments basis don't follow through to the conclusion.

Why should an expert in the field of microorganisms be able to explain the origins of life?

Muslim said:

Correct - we would not be debating evolution but the origin of life.

Muslim said:

No it is not.

Currently there is no argument / debate - as you can not decide whether you are wanting a debate on evolution or on the origin of life.

Since the title of this thread, and your challenge, was on evolution - how about you stick to that?

Muslim, maybe have a drink of water and gather yourself. I didn't expect you to do much but I am sure you can do better than you are at the moment.
