It was a polite and unobtrusive little ad, if that is what it was.
I feel like visiting the place.

It appears Ebola is now under control in the US for the time being. It remains to be seen of more Duncans will appear or not. There is certainly an opportunity for more Duncans to appear as the government has done nothing which would prevent another Duncan from showing up on American shores.
This should be a learning opportunity. It is Ebola today, but what will it be tomorrow? I don't think this will be the last time we are threatened by a biological disaster.

Disease will not be contained by a blockade.
If the disease was virulent enough, then one Duncan would be enough.

Well one Duncan was enough. Granted it doesn't appear he created a widespread pandemic at this point. But the jury is still out on that. There are still folks in quarantine and if the WHO is to believed, the quarantine period should be 42 days. I don't think anyone advocated a blockade...maybe that is your pirate side showing. But travel bans were advocated and I think are very reasonable. They have worked for Nigeria. And got lucky with Duncan, his infection was discovered relatively quickly. Those he infected were identified quickly. If that had not been the case, we would be looking at a completely different story. The kids could have become infected and it could have gotten really ugly if Duncan's infection had not been quickly identified. Many people could have been infected. We got lucky this time around. But Murphy's Law can only be kept at bay for so long.
Duncan's Ebola infection was quickly identified 2 days after he 1st went to the ER with Ebola symptoms & admitting he recently came from West Africa & was sent home. The next time that happens we might not be so lucky.

I've heard that ebola has been successfully contained, so I wouldn't be worried about it unless they let someone else with it in.

Except it hasn't. The epidemic still rages. However, there is hope for a vaccine. New medicines and vaccines are being tested. The US military is building infrastructure in the affected country. So there is hope, but the disease has not been contained.

Another Duncan could show up anywhere in the world at any time.
And now we have France to add to that. There are a number of potential perils out there. Just because we don't hear or read about them in them in the headlines, it doesn't mean they don't exist and are not problematic.
China has a gargantuan debt bubble it is trying to outgrow. How often do you hear about that in the headlines? I think China's debt bubble will be the next economic disaster, though I don't look for it to pop before 2016.
