Recently watched ''The Inventor - Out for Blood'' which is about Elizabeth Holmes, the Founder and CEO of Theranos, a health technology company, initially touted as a breakthrough technology concept, but soon became infamous for its false claims to have devised blood tests that only needed very small amounts of blood.

This is really horrifying, and I can only fathom that Holmes has narcissistic personality disorder, because her actions were deliberate.

Give it a watch, it's riveting.

so they never made a product(a product of the service provided by the claimed technology) ? ... in 16 years ?
Holmes' concept was basically to have a lab ''inside of a box.'' So it would be more affordable and mobile, as to reach people who otherwise couldn't afford traditional blood testing, and healthcare. So, that part actually did come to fruition, but the product had a myriad of hardware and mechanical issues, and the samples weren't being tested properly. Unfortunately, this documentary is only on HBO right now, but you can get it through Amazon prime, if you have that. (plus the add on fee to purchase HBO, which I'm only using right now mainly for Game of Thrones lol)

So, yea, her product went to market but it basically failed, and she lied about the failures to her investors. And even worse, think of all the customers who were being lied to. It's a really incredible look at what happens when enough powerful, wealthy investors throw money at a narcissist.
