So.... Do they?
How do you think a tree feels when dogs cock their legs and pee all over it ?
A tree does not have that complex of feelings...its feelings are pure and simple. So when a dog pees over it, the tree would accept being useful.
But there is nothing pure and simple about dogs' pee. Have you seen what it does to a lawn ?
Trees are generally thick-skinned, so to speak. But the sound of a chain saw revving up is a whole other story. How do you think a tree feels when dogs cock their legs and pee all over it ?
its we who care, we think only in terms of how it effects us. A tree cannot have such complex emotions.

Simon, Dragon.
Where do you get this philosophy from?
I have hugged and been in the presence of many mighty and not so mighty trees and have not felt it.

But as this little story will tell you, trees do have life....

You got to let the feelings flow through the tree, when you hug it, you are not hogging piece of metal, you are hugging a live being, listen to the tree. Listen to its leaves, think about your life and share your thoughts with the tree. You got to believe and a belief will grant you understanding. When you hug a tree, it hugs back.
No they can also both leave. The only affinity between a tree and a dog is the bark,
